Review: Asda Little Angels Bedtime Bath

On a mission to find something just as good but cheaper than Johnson’s Bed Time Bath I was shopping online at Asda recently and decided to give their Asda Little Angels Bedtime Bath a go. I figured it couldn’t be so bad that I wouldn’t use it anyway so I bought a couple of bottles. Asda Little Angels Bedtime Bath retails at £1 for a 500ml bottle. A Johnson’s 500ml bottle alternative costs about £3 so this one costs a third of the price! As this is an Asda product you can only get it in store or online. I

Review: Johnson’s Baby Bedtime Cream

I take Erin to quite a lot of different baby classes (4 days a week) and I hear a lot of recommendations for all kinds of different things from my mum friends. One woman in particular has been raving about Johnson’s Baby Bedtime Cream so I finally decided to try it with Erin. We haven’t ever really gotten into baby massage but I thought I’d give it a go with her after her bath and before bedtime. Johnson’s have a whole range of bedtime products designed to help calm and relax babies. Erin absolutely loves having her bath before bed

The Husband Files: Feeling like a dad

I was so excited when I found out I was going to be a dad. For as long as I can remember I have wanted a family of my own. To meet someone who had chosen to love me and to make a child with her who would be a bit of both us. That is all I ever wanted in life. As soon as I found out Lyndsey was pregnant I started to feel nervous though. What if I turned out to be a rubbish dad?  What if I didn’t know what to do, or how to look after

The first remortgage!

I absolutely cannot believe that we have been in our house for just over 2 years now. Getting a mortgage to begin with was not easy for us. Although we were VERY lucky to get given a little bit of money to put towards our deposit it still wasn’t enough for the regular 10% and then fees on top. We were lucky in that we were able to do the Help to Buy scheme and only put 5% down on our house. I say lucky but we have had to struggle for over 2 years with a near £800 mortgage

Storytime Saturday: May’s library books

Welcome to Storytime Saturday, my new weekly feature! Both John and I are big on reading and this is something we want Erin to love as well. We started reading to her very early on and we want her to know a variety of books. I thought I would dedicate a whole day every week to books for Erin as it’s something that’s really important, not only to us but reading for children in general. If you have something in particular you’d like me to write about or a book you’d like me to review, please do get in touch!

Why I love being a mum: part 1

Nothing can really prepare you for how you’ll feel when you become a parent for the first time… or any time I would imagine. When I found out I was pregnant I felt instant love for my unborn Erin. I couldn’t imagine loving anything as much as I loved her even though she was a long way off being born. At this point I thought I loved Erin as much as I ever would. God, how wrong I was! There are also so many things that I would have never even thought about before Erin arrived so I thought I’d

Review: Chicco Polly Magic High Chair

Being so small Erin did not fit into a high chair very well. They all looked way too big for her and I was always worried that she wouldn’t be secure enough. After a lot of research I came across the Chicco Polly Magic Highchair which, unlike others, stated that it was suitable from birth instead of 6 months. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one for us and I had to have it. Price and availability Up until now I have been quite frugal when it comes to shopping for Erin. I have bought

To the lady on the bus who can’t mind her own business

Dear lady on the bus, I know you think you were being helpful telling me that my screaming daughter is hungry. I gritted my teeth and explained that no, she’s actually just had a bottle. I know you think you were being helpful telling me that my screaming daughter obviously had stomach ache then. She’s got acid reflux and yes, it hurts her but no, that’s not what’s wrong. You certainly can’t have thought you were being helpful when you muttered to your husband sitting next to you ‘She’s going to be ill screaming that much.’ Lady, you clearly don’t
