You’ve Got To Be In It To Win It

When I started writing this post, I originally called it ‘Getting Back Into Comping’ but it wouldn’t have been right. You see, I’ve never really been into comping to start with. I have had good intentions in the past of getting into this but never really stuck with it. However, over the past couple of weeks I have been really trying.

I recently set up a new email address just for entering competitions. I have also recently set up a new email for the blog. I was sick of absolutely everything coming through to the same account so I figured this was the best way to go.

Although I have been wanting to get into comping, I haven’t gone in all guns blazing. I don’t have the most time in the world to enter competitions so I figured I’d start with Twitter. I really like The Prizefinder website for Twitter competitions as they’re really easy to enter. You can also mark them as entered or ignored if you don’t want to do them.

I have a Twitter account now just for competitions as well as an email address. Tweetdeck is fantastic because I can see both accounts that I use in the same place. Most Twitter competitions are really basic #Follow and #RT entry requirements so they don’t take much time at all. I don’t enter too many at once though. I maybe do 10-15 every 30 minutes.

I’ve also started to use a different browser for entering competitions. I like having one browser set up to have auto-fill information for one email address, rather than multiples. Less choices makes entering other competitions easier and quicker.

I’ve only been comping for a couple of weeks. Eventually I’ll branch out and start entering different kinds of comps. No wins yet but I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

Do you enter competitions online? Have you had much success if you do?

  1. I used to enter a lot of competitions and I have had quite a few wins nothing huge but toys for the kids, a little money and beauty things. Now I just tend to stick to one’s on blogs…I did used to do a lot on Twitter but the wins were few and far between. I think because they are so easy to enter so many people do.

  2. I used to enter them all the time before I started blogging, one of my best wins was a fb competition, and I won a years free shopping with Aldi, I also one a bafta goodie bag which was worth over £2000
