Most of us live really busy lives and it can sometimes be hard to find times to look after ourselves. However, self care is so important and we should try to take some time to take care of us when we can. Self care doesn’t have to be anything massive, or something that takes a really long time, so here are 5 easy ways to look after yourself better this summer.

Enjoy the garden

Now that the evenings are lighter thanks to the clock change, we are able to spend more time outdoors without it being pitch black. If you are lucky enough to have your own outside space, maybe a garden, then this could be a great place to relax and unwind. This could be with a good book and a glass of wine to help you wind down from a busy day. Click here to find out more about some delicious wine choices.

Pamper yourself

Whether you are on your feet all day or you’ve been non-stop with the kids taking a bit of time to pamper yourself could be just what you need. A bubble bath might be your kind of thing, you might want to spend some time with a face mask or maybe you want to go for a pedicure. While looking after yourself in this way, it’s also important to take a look at what your body needs. This could be anything from a moisturising bath product, face mask for dry skin or what to do for elderly foot care.

Take the stress out of your life

Stress can be a real problem for a lot of people and it’s really hard to take care of yourself properly if you’re always thinking about everything you have going on. In order to get rid of some of the stress in your life it could be a good idea to make lists of things that need to be done and have a plan to go forward. Try to plan out your day, make shopping lists and meal plans or make plans for the big things in your life. If you’re moving house you could learn more about professional movers to do a lot of the work for you.

Turn off technology

I think it would be safe to say that technology takes over our lives a lot of the time. Many of us work on laptops every day, we rely on our phones for things like alarms and notifications of upcoming plans and social media can be a big obsession. Turning off your technology for a day or even an hour can help you to focus on other things in your life. Try having an hour free of technology with your children or an evening with your partner without screens or phones.
