Cupcake Decorating At Center Parcs

Cupcake Decorating At Center Parcs

On our most recent trip to Center Parcs Erin was finally old enough to be able to do some of the great activities that are on offer. Due to a broken elbow that had just had a cast off we wanted to book something but nothing too boisterous. Cupcake Decorating sounded great, especially as baking was something that Erin had been doing a lot with her Grandma.

This activity cost around £12 and lasted for 45 minutes, aimed at children between 3 and 7. Our class only had 2 children participating and was run by Elleigh.

Each child gets 4 cupcakes to decorate during the class, which I thought was great considering the price we had paid. Elleigh talked us all through what the children would be designing, showing pre-decorated cupcakes for ideas. The children were going to make a ladybird, flower, chick and pig.

At every step of the way Elleigh explained what the children needed to do really well, setting out everything they needed and telling them what to do. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure that Erin would be able to follow and make what was being asked of her but Elleigh did such a great job of explaining everything in a simple way.

For each cake the children were only given the things that they needed which helped to stop them from getting confused and too messy. Erin really loved making each of the different cakes and there wasn’t much really that we had to help her with.

Erin really put her own stamp on a couple of the cupcakes, especially the ladybird which was definitely her favourite. Getting 4 cupcakes decorated in 45 minutes was something I didn’t think was possible and I was quite surprised at how easy Erin found it all. The designs were all quite varied too so the children had to use different techniques and tools for each one.

Cupcake decorating was such a fun class and Erin really enjoy it, especially being able to take home the cupcakes she decorated. We unfortunately lost ours somewhere on the same day and after Elleigh heard she arranged for a few more for Erin which was such a lovely thing to do. We were so thankful as Erin was quite upset about it so a huge thanks to Elleigh for making our experience so wonderful.
