Now that we’re in November it’s time to start thinking about 2021 and the things we might be able to change. After a pretty hellish 2020 I think next year could be the time to start something new and to maybe take up a new hobby. I know that I could do with something to take my mind off of everything else going on so here are some ideas you might like to think about:
Getting fit
Earlier this year I decided that I wanted to get fitter. It wasn’t so much about losing weight but I wanted to feel healthier and less out of breath all the time. I’ve always hated exercise though and for me to be able to get fit I had to find something that I actually enjoyed. Between running (more like a jog) and a local exercise class, I really enjoy it now. Try different kinds of exercise and find something you actually like!
Learn to build something
I’m not the most technical or creative of people and when it comes to DIY, I’m terrible. If you’re the same as me then you might want to take up a hobby where you learn how to build new things. This could be a hobby where you use loads of different materials such as metal, a dynamometer, fabrics or maybe even technology. Building things gives you a lot of opportunity to use lots of different things to create something really unique and amazing.
Wine tasting
Do you think of yourself as a foodie? Maybe you would like to learn more about what wines go with certain foods. This isn’t something I know a lot about and I often feel a bit silly not knowing when we go to restaurants. Taking up wine tasting, and not just drinking loads of wine, can help you to learn which wines to choose to compliment your meals. Maybe invest in the best metal wine tumbler before your start.
Explore your local area
Over the past 8 months or so we have been lucky enough to be able to explore more of the area where we live. We discovered some amazing places only a short walk from our house and we never knew that they were there before. One way to explore more of what’s already around you is with a drone (where allowed) and the dji might be exactly what you need to get started.
Do you plan to take up a new hobby next year? What do your fancy learning how to do?
