Ideas For Self-Improvement In The New Year

It’s a brand new year, and a brand new decade. Now that Christmas is out of the way people are starting to concentrate on New Year’s resolutions and things they might want to improve about themselves over the coming months. There are unlimited options really when it comes to self improvement but here are some ideas.

Healthy eating

One of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is to change eating habits. Over Christmas people tend to have way too many snacks and chocolates and I’m speaking from personal experience here. We had a ‘sweets’ table this year and it ended up getting even more full after we had opened presents.

This could be the time where you look at what you eat and what you could cut out. There are some delicious looking vegan breakfast jars on this website here to give you some inspiration.

Take time for yourself

One of the things I struggle most with is paying attention to what I need and making sure that I take time out for myself. Until recently it had been months and months since I had a hair cut or went for a bit of a pamper. I don’t think I can be the best version of myself if I’m tired, overworked or stressed about anything so this is why I want to work on this area for myself this year.

Join the gym

Personally, I find it really hard to get motivated to do any exercise. When you’re in the comfort of your own home it’s easy to do other things instead and just ignore the need to exercise. If you have a gym near by then this could be a great way to make yourself get up and do something else. If you need a bit of extra help then maybe a work out buddy could be the thing you need. Maybe you need to invest in some exercise attire such as a comfortable jersey or some running shoes! There are plenty of different things you can do at a gym and there’s bound to be something for everyone.

Time management

On a daily basis I spin a lot more plates than I probably should do. I try to run our family, manage being self-employed and plan everything we do both every day and for the whole year. It’s a lot and sometimes I really find myself getting overwhelmed by everything that I try to do. Learning how to manage your time better isn’t an easy thing, especially if you already find it hard, so high performance coaching could be something to look into.

What will you be working on in 2020?
