Top Jobs To Tackle When You Move House

AD | Collaborative post Moving house can be one of the most stressful times and there’s a lot to think about. My sister and her husband have just bought their first home together and have already got to work on making some changes and making things their own. Here are some jobs that you might want to tackle as soon as you move house, whether it be rented or somewhere you have bought. Electrics Older properties may need quite a bit of work when it comes to the electrics. When we moved into our house in 2014 we had to

Top Tips For Leaving The House On Time

I can’t quite believe it but today is Erin’s first day at school. Well, it’s the first of her shorter transition sessions. Erin doesn’t actually start in Reception full time until 17th September so she’s got a little while to go yet. However, Erin has been going to nursery since she was 2 so we have quite a lot of practice with getting ourselves up and out the door in the morning. If your child will be starting school soon, or maybe even nursery, here are some tips to help you get out the door on time: Pack a bag

A Trip Back In Time On The North Norfolk Railway

Although we live close to the Norfolk coast we tend to go to the same places most of the time. Cromer is our beach of choice mainly because it’s the closest and has a lot of nearby facilities for families such as toilets. However, a couple of weeks ago we stayed in Sheringham at YHA Sheringham, which was such a good base as a family. During our weekend we decided to do something really different and go on a journey on the North Norfolk Railway. This is unlike a regular train though as it’s a steam train instead! The train

Exploring Norfolk With YHA Sheringham

AD | Press trip Every year we try to find somewhere close to home to explore. Somewhere we hadn’t been very much was Sheringham and we were supposed to stay during the Easter holidays earlier in the year. Unfortunately COVID-19 got in the way but we were able to reschedule for the middle of August, which was perfect for John’s birthday. Our stay was booked over a weekend, from Friday to Sunday, at YHA Sheringham. We stayed at YHA Cambridge last year and found it such a fun place to say as a family so we wanted to try out

Asmodee Blogger Board Game Club Review – Dobble: The Gruffalo

AD | Contains gifted items and affiliate links (marked with *) I’m really excited to be part of the Asmodee Blogger Board Game Club. Since March we have been playing more and more games at home. This might be with Erin or it might be on an evening with just us adults but we’ve really enjoyed trying some new things and most importantly, having fun. One of the games that I chose for us was Dobble: The Gruffalo*. No matter what we’re playing Erin wants to be involved so I thought it was important to get something aimed at her age.

Creative Ways To Learn Outdoors

AD | Collaborative post Although a lot of us are looking at children going back to school in a couple of weeks that doesn’t mean that learning at home has to stop. We are always looking for ways to play with Erin at home with some kind of educational aspect attached, even if she might not realise it. Here are some of the things we do with Erin, both at home and while out and about. Scavenger hunts Over the course of lock down we spent quite a bit of time at our local woods. It was somewhere to escape

A Trip To The Lost In Translation Circus

AD | Press tickets I honestly can’t remember the last time we went to see a show. It must have been last year and this year, COVID-19 has affected theatres so much. This summer, between Monday 10th August and Sunday 20th September 2020, Norwich Theatre Royal and Lost In Translation Circus teamed up to present INTERLUDE in Chapelfield Gardens. We were invited to check out a show suitable for age 5+ called Circus Treats. Seats inside are set up into groups of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in order to maintain good social distancing.
