When Erin started going to nursery one of the things I was strangely looking forward to was her bringing things home with her. Although we don’t do too much of it at home, Erin loves some messy play and she loves to play with colours and crayons. I knew that these kinds of activities at nursery would be some of her favourites and I wasn’t wrong. Erin has only been going for 2 months but already she has been sent home with lots of creations from nursery. Erin is only 2 so I know that really, she just likes to
Although Erin has now been going to nursery for 2 months now, we knew where she would be going well over a year ago. I think we started to think about looking at where Erin would go to nursery just before her first birthday. Where we live there are a few different nurseries to choose from. There are more just out of town but as we don’t drive, none of these were going to be possible. We also ruled out the nursery that was closest to home and only a couple of minutes away. It would have made a lot
I honestly cannot believe that Erin has now been going to nursery for a whole month. The time has gone incredibly fast and I can imagine that it will only keep going this fast as well. As it’s been Erin’s first month I thought I’d do a ‘nursery: 1 month on’ kind of update about how she’s doing and what she has been getting up to. Erin’s settling in sessions and her first full day went really well. She wasn’t really that bothered about me leaving and was quite happy to go off holding her teacher’s hands to go off
4th January was a pretty big day for our family. This was the day that Erin had her first day at nursery. Well, I guess it wasn’t her first real day as it was only the first of two settling in sessions and I didn’t actually leave her there but to me, it felt like the first day. I had been preparing for this day for months and months but I was never actually prepared for how I would feel about it. The day didn’t start well. Erin had a bit of a melt down about leaving the house and
Erin turns 2 in a couple of weeks and that means her bedroom has been exactly the same for about 2 and a half years now. I think I was quite clever in the design I chose as we decorated before Erin was even born. Her nursery was painted in a very neutral light brown and paired with a woodland theme. However, now that Erin is older, I wonder if it is maybe time to redecorate with something a bit more suited to her personality. Here are some ideas for updating a 2 year old’s bedroom. Erin does love animals
Erin’s first day of nursery is coming round very fast and every time I think about it, I get super emotional. I’m trying to get my head around the fact that my little girl who was only 4lb 8oz when she was born is old enough to be going off to nursery. Preparing for the first day of nursery is a massive thing for me so I have no idea what it is going to be like for Erin. I remember going to have a look around the nursery nearly a year ago now and falling in love with it.
Not too long ago I wrote about Erin’s bedroom and the theme that went with it. We’ve had some lovely comments about her room and some of the items in it, especially the Sylvanian Families Treehouse. The treehouse is super simple to put together. It comes in a few different pieces but it took me less than 5 minutes. Some of the pieces, such as the trees clip on very tightly and they’re really not going to move but others, like the slide and the house itself come off quite easily. Being only 2, Erin doesn’t really do gentle play
