Being a non-driving family we always like to find places in Norfolk that we can get to either by bus or train. One of our favourite places to visit is Wroxham as it’s only a 10 minute train ride away and then a short walk into town. Usually, when we go here we have a McDonald’s and then feed the ducks but this time we did something different. We booked a pub lunch at The King’s Head.
On of my absolutely favourite places to go in Norwich is The Assembly House. I fell in love from my very first afternoon tea there and have been back so many times since then and even had an overnight stay last year. The great thing about The Assembly House is that they change the afternoon tea fairly often and they’re usually themed as well. During May half term we took Erin as a treat to enjoy a seaside themed afternoon tea.
Yesterday was mine and John’s 7 year wedding anniversary. For the past few years we had been going to Center Parcs during this week but now that Erin is in reception we are no longer able to go on term time breaks. One of my favourite places in Norwich is The Assembly House, somewhere I have been for afternoon tea quite a few times now. They have had an offer on recently that included a stay in any of the rooms, afternoon tea, a bottle of fizz in the room and breakfast the next morning
During August we ate out a lot. Thanks to the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme we were able to afford to go out a bit more than normal and it also meant that we could go places we might not be able to afford normally. However, this scheme only ran on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays and we needed to find somewhere to eat that was decently priced on another day. A couple of years ago we reviewed Middletons Steakhouse and Grill in Norwich but hadn’t been back since. When I started looking at
AD | Gifted meal It’s no secret that I love a good burger. In fact, it’s something I look for if we go out for a meal and I’m on a bit of a mission to find the best one. A couple of years ago we reviewed Zaks Fine American Restaurants in Norwich and it was pretty bloody good. However, my last visit was really very average and it wasn’t nearly as good as it had been the first time. Not long after that average meal, Zaks gained two new owners though, who promised to
Once a month I go out for a meal with a friend and her (now) 8 month old daughter. We usually try to pick somewhere either one of us hasn’t been before, somewhere with an offer on or somewhere that I can’t usually get to as I don’t drive. So far we have been for things like fish and chips and afternoon tea but one thing we do like is a really good burger. After a recommendation from someone we both know we decided to try Coast2Coast, situated on the Riverside complex in Norwich and
When Erin was born my family either lived in London or Grimsby (where I’m originally from). We did have John’s family quite close by but unfortunately circumstances have meant that we don’t speak to some of them now and others we have only recently mended our relationship with. This has meant that since Erin was born John and I have managed to have 1 meal out together in 4 years. I know a lot of you will think that’s absolutely crazy but that’s just how it has been. You may have read a while back
A few years ago we discovered a really fantastic restaurant just a few minutes away from our house. I don’t know how we didn’t know it was there but the Beechwood Hotel quickly became a family favourite. This year, as Mum now lives with us in Norfolk we wanted to do something special for Christmas and a trip back here was an obvious choice. During December the Beechwood Hotel offers a pre-Christmas celebration menu which consists of 3 courses for £29.95. This includes canapes as well! There is also a children’s menu available to with
