Tinsy Winsy Weeny Tot Dolls and Bedtime Accessories Review

When it comes to toys for Erin, dolls are something I don’t really know a lot about. She is nearly 2 and she’s changing all the time, meaning what she wants to play with has also changed. Erin had recently showed a bit of interest in a doll while we were out shopping so when the opportunity to review the new Tinsy Winsy Weeny Tot Dolls and a playset arose, I had to say yes!

Tinsy Winsy Weeny Tot Dolls are realistic, miniature baby dolls that you can hold in the palm of your hand. The first collection of Tinsy Winsy Weeny Tot Dolls is limited edition and they each come in their own hospital bed with wrist tag, name and date of birth.

I really like how there are different kinds of dolls that each come with different accessories. The pink ‘Millie’ doll comes with a soft and fluffy sleep suit while the blue ‘Jaxon’ doll has a hat, dummy and a sleeping bag. As you can see, the dolls both have different facial expressions. One is yawning while the other is fast asleep. You can see that quite a lot of thought has gone into these dolls.

We also have the fantastic Bedtime Accessory Set, which comes with a doll of it’s own as well as a plastic bed with real working drawers and movable mobile, fabric duvet and blanket.

The bedtime accessory set is really lovely and very detailed. I love the fact that the drawers actually come out. I have seen other, more expensive doll sets that don’t have these kinds of features. The mobile has moons and stars which hang down but I personally chose not to attach these. The whole set is aimed at children 3+ due to the small parts and as Erin is younger than this, I decided it was safer to keep them off for now.

Erin has really loved putting the dolls in and out of the beds. Every time she puts them in and I tell her they’re going to sleep she says ‘Shhhh’ because that’s what we do when it’s time for her to sleep. As the dolls are so small, Erin has been extremely gentle with them so far and places them in their beds really carefully. I can imagine it’s not long before she starts throwing them around the room though or trying to feed them to the cat like she does with other toys.

I’m really impressed with the quality and thought that has gone into these products. Other sets, such as a pram and a collector’s case are also available and they’d be great additions to the dolls.

The Tinsy Winsy Weeny Tot Dolls (£7.99 each) and Bedtime Accessory Playset (£14.99) are available at Smyths Toys Superstores
