If you are preparing to jet away on holiday, then you are ensured to be in for a fun-filled time. You have probably been looking forward to this trip for months and months, if not longer. However, nothing can spoil a holiday quicker than getting ill.
With that being said, read on to discover 12 tips that can ensure you have a healthy holiday.
- Be careful calorie-wise – If you do not want to put on a lot of weight during your weekend or week trip, then be careful with what alcohol you choose. Alcohol contains a lot of calories, and so if you are wise, you can ensure you do not put on too much weight. Vodka and tonic or vodka and diet lemonade tend to be the best option.
- Make sure you get all of the medication you need before you travel – When travelling to certain places, medication will be needed to manage potential health risks. This is something that is going to be made a lot easier if you use a UK based registered online pharmacy.
- Don’t forget your sun cream – We all are eager sun-worshippers when we get to a hot country, but don’t forget to wear a decent covering of sun cream. You don’t want to spend the rest of your time burnt to a crisp, sunstroke and unable to enjoy your weekend.
- Eat fish – There are tons of countries that have the most exquisite local fish. Not only does it taste good, but it provides a healthy boost of Omega 3, which is good for your skin and digestion.

To do this, you need to know how to clean your ears properly. You should drain or shake all of the water from your ears, and then use a clean towel to dry your ears gently. - Drinks lots and lots and LOTS of water – This is especially important if you are going on holiday to a hot country and/or are drinking a lot of alcohol. You need to continually ensure that you are rehydrating your body; otherwise you may find yourself feeling really ill and weak, and you may potentially faint. Try and have a pint of water before you go to bed after a night out, and keep a bottle of water with you at all times during a hot day.
- Wash your hands frequently – If you are going away for a holiday, then it is important to wash your hands frequently, especially when at places such as public beaches. A good idea is to carry around your own hand sanitizer, as germs can be easily spread.
- Snack on watermelon – Watermelon is great as not only is it low in calories but it will rehydrate you as well.
- Relax – Don’t stress while you are on holiday, relax, turn off your phone and let yourself fully unwind. Far too many people come back from their holidays, feeling more stressed than when they left!
- Be clever with your alcohol – This is not to say that you can’t drink, but just be clever whilst doing so. If you feel like you are getting too drunk, then have a glass of water. Try not to mix your drinks too much. And, if you intend on drinking a lot, go for something low in alcohol content, or opt for a white wine spritzer or something like this, which has been watered down a bit. After all, you do not want to spend the rest of your stag weekend in bed with a terrible hangover.
- Take chewing gum – Once you have had your dinner, it can be tempting to go back for seconds if it was really tasty. Pop a bit of chewing gum into your mouth to suppress this urge.
- Make the most of the gym in the hotel – Take advantage of the gym facilities that are available if you are staying in a hotel. Most hotels have a great gym, and you’ll probably enjoy spending a spare hour of the day in there, whilst also being active and healthy.
