Exploring Sheringham Park, Norfolk

Exploring Sheringham Park, Norfolk

I can’t quite believe it but I have now lived in Norfolk for just over 5 years. From my very first visit about 7 years ago I was blown away by just how beautiful Norfolk is and since then, I have had a list a mile long of places I wanted to visit. Sheringham Park (NT) has been on that list for a long time and until last Saturday, I haven’t been able to visit.

Sheringham Park isn’t actually that far from where we live, about a 30 minute drive away, but seeing as we don’t drive, it’s not quite that easy. Luckily, my sister’s fiance drove us for this visit but if we wanted to do it ourselves it would take over an hour and a mix of trains and buses.

Anyway, John was at work doing overtime and we all wanted to get out and do something for a chunk of the day and Sheringham Park seemed like a great option for us all. Sheringham Park doesn’t have an entrance fee but parking is £5.70 per day.

Sheringham Park has a cafe, shop and toilets at the entrance but there are no facilities anywhere else on the property. If you are visiting with young children like we did then be sure to think about things like a potty etc. and plenty of food and drink to keep you going for the duration of your visit. I had looked at the map before we visited so I knew how to prepare. Another thing to note is that there aren’t any bins (that I saw) further than about 5-10 minutes past the entrance.

Instead of writing a lot about Sheringham Park I’d rather show you in pictures. We spent about 3 hours at Sheringham Park and ended up with a very tired toddler at the end of our visit!
