Over the past year or so Erin has really gotten into wearing dresses more. I really didn’t put her in them too often as a baby because for her, they just weren’t practical. Being strapped in to the pushchair meant that the dress only got in the way so it was easier to not buy any. Last summer though when we were potty training Erin we put her in dresses a lot for ease and she absolutely loved wearing them. Now, getting a new dress really puts a smile on Erin’s face so when we were offered to try a dress from the David Charles Spring/ Summer 2019 range I had to say yes.
David Charles offers luxury girl’s dresses with options for parties, flower girls and any other occasion you can think of. Believe me when I saw I was wowed when I started to look through the newest collection. I knew that no matter which dress we picked Erin would feel really special in it. While I was browsing through the dresses, one in particular really stood out for me. I decided on the Navy Ruffle Trim Day Dress.
The David Charles website makes it really easy to choose what size you need to order. Sometimes when we shop somewhere new the sizes can be different from what we’re used to and with Erin being on the small side, it can be tricky to order online. The size guide offers really detailed information about what size would suit a child in various measurements such as height, chest, weight and hip. I was able to measure Erin’s height quickly to figure out that she needed a dress in Age 4. I definitely advise sizing up as Erin has only just gone into clothes aged 3-4 from other brands.
The dress came packaged really well and with a beautiful satin hanger. Erin was very excited when she saw it hanging it and couldn’t wait to get a better look at it and to try it on. The ruffle detail on the front of the dress is really beautiful and I think it’s what helps to make this one extra special.
The back of the dress has a nicely hidden zip, which looks very neat and tidy. Although Erin had her hair down on this occasion, if she was to wear it up the back of the dress would still look really lovely and smart. I hate to see big zips on delicate dresses so I really appreciated this aspect of the design.
What Erin loved the most about the Navy Ruffle Trim Day Dress is how well she could spin around in it. I’m not sure what it is about dresses but Erin always tests out the ‘swish’ of the skirt as soon as she puts it on. This dress definitely passed the dress and Erin spent ages twirling around the garden.
Both Erin and I are really happy with the dress we chose from the David Charles Spring/ Summer 2019 range. We chose something a little less fancy looking than some of the other dresses but this way I know Erin will get more use out of it. Erin does already have it picked out for a friend’s birthday party we have coming up and she can’t wait to wear it again.
