Although Erin goes to nursery for 3 days a week we still have 4 days together at home. Since starting nursery back in January the way that Erin likes to play has changed. Her imagination is fantastic and she really loves to be creative. At the same time, she likes to learn something new so I’m always on the look out for new and exciting things for her to play with. Feeling uninspired by the regular places I shop at, I decided to give Wicked Uncle a try.
Wicked Uncle is a bit different to other toy shops because of the way it works. On the homepage you are able to search for what you want but in various different ways. You can search for products suitable for boys or girls, you can search for products by age and you can even search for products based on a child’s personal likes e.g. outdoorsy or braniac.
There is so much choice on Wicked Uncle that I had a really hard time deciding on what to get Erin. I think I ended up with about 10 items in my basket but I sadly had to cut that down to only 2! This is what I chose:
Outer Space Colouring Roll – £15.95
Erin loves to colour but she hates being sat up at the dining table, especially when she is strapped in to her booster seat. When I saw this Outer Space colouring roll I knew she would love it. The roll is 10ft long and comes with sections you can tear off if you want to.
As Erin is only 2, I really like that the paper is large and so are the images. If Erin has a picture with large areas to colour she does really well at colouring in mostly within the lines now so the Outer Space colouring roll is perfect for her. This also comes with a small pack of crayons so children can play straight away!
Not only do I think this is great for children to play with on their own but it’s also perfect for if they have friends over or if family want to colour as well. Everyone can lay on the floor or sit at the table and colour all together!
Magnetic Faces – £21.95
A couple of months ago we got Erin some stickers which were things like eyes and shoes. I don’t even remember where they came from but I remember Erin loving them. She has got a bit of an obsession about people having the same things on their faces so I thought it would be good for her to create her own!
The Magnetic Faces activity box comes with a magnetic whiteboard and blackboard and 78 pieces to create with!
The blackboard/ whiteboard is removable and also acts as a lid to the box. I think this is a really clever idea because it means all of the parts can be kept safe inside the box after it’s been played with. Some of the pieces are quite small as there are quite a lot of mouths, noses and eyes so it’s important to supervise children while playing with this toy.
I really love that there are so many possibilities and combinations for faces. You don’t just have to stick them to the board though because the set also comes with a whiteboard pen and chalk so you can draw on your face as well! If you get a bit stuck for inspiration there are also a set of cards you can use for some ideas! The cards are double sided too!
Ordering the products was super simple and delivery was really fast. From ordering to delivery, this took a couple of days and I was kept updated by email the whole time. Shopping with Wicked Uncle really couldn’t be easier and I can’t wait until I need to buy something else because I know this will be the first place I look!
These are both products I would never have thought about buying had it not been for Wicked Uncle! They are both fun for the whole family but Erin loves them more than anyone!
