We are lucky enough to have a pretty large garden and when we moved in it was a massive, overgrown mess. It took us 3 skips and a hell of a lot of work to clear and then we had some decking put in and lawn laid over most of the ground. Something we didn’t really take into account at the time was how hard it would be to keep looking nice and tidy. We certainly don’t have a low maintenance garden. Not only do we now have the 10ft by 10ft piece of decking but we also have a sandpit, playhouse and a washing line to deal with and the lawnmower just does not get into all of the edges properly. I got pretty excited when I found the VonHaus 2 In 1 Grass And Hedge Trimmer and I couldn’t wait to see if it worked as well as I hoped it would.
The VonHaus 2 In 1 Grass And Hedge Trimmer only takes 30 seconds to put together but you do need to charge the battery beforehand. The great thing about this product is that it is cordless and that was one of the biggest selling points for me. Here you can check some of the other recommended battery operated hedge trimmers available in the UK. I hate having cables running across the garden especially if Erin is out there with me. The battery only took about 30 minutes to charges so you can be ready to go in not long at all.
With this you get an attachment for trimming the grass and a blade for trimming hedges. We don’t have a hedge so this won’t be used but the grass attachment will get used a lot. I liked that a cover for the blades came with the kit because even though this will get put away after every use, it’s nice to know the sharp bits can be covered safely.
The VonHaus 2 In 1 Grass And Hedge Trimmer can be used either as a handheld device or you can add the handle and wheels on for ease of use in the garden. With us having edges of patio and decking to trim regularly this is just what we need to make things even easier.
It has been a very long time since the edges of our garden so they were far too overgrown the first time we used the VonHaus 2 In 1 Grass And Hedge Trimmer. I was really so surprised with how well it coped for just the first attempt of using it. You can see from the picture above that the edges near our fence has quite long grass and I thought the trimmer wouldn’t be able to cope. I was so very wrong.
Some areas definitely needed more work than others, such as the patio and I do need to go over certain areas again. However, this is really because I let the garden get in a bad state and some areas were really very overgrown. You can see before and after pictures below and this was only from going over each area once.
I used this for the first time for roughly an hour and the battery was still going strong. I was expecting it to fizzle out after about 15-20 minutes so it’s great that it lasts so long!
This handy piece of kit costs £39.99 and is worth every single penny. I can’t really use the lawnmower myself because it’s too heavy but at least now I can help keep parts of the garden tidy easily!
