Although the summer is finally over that doesn’t stop us from looking forward to next year and thinking ahead about what we might need for our gardens. With a south facing garden we tend to struggle for shade during the day and it can make being out there just too hot. Lakeland Furniture have a fantastic selection of garden furniture, including garden parasols.
We were sent the Henley 3m Crank & Tilt Garden Parasol Umbrella in blue but it also comes in different colours such as green, red and beige, so you can choose something to fit the style of your garden. I went for blue basically because it’s my favourite colour and I didn’t really need to worry about it matching anything else in the garden.
When choosing this particular garden parasol I wanted to make sure we had something big enough to cover a decent area of the garden. Erin sometimes wants to sit and play in the garden but we don’t stay out too long because of the shade issue. With this being a 3m parasol I knew that it would be big enough to cover the area I wanted.
The parasol was really easy to put together as it comes in only 2 parts in the box. All you need to do it push the poles together and make sure they’re clicked in and you’re good to go. This doesn’t come with a base though so you need to make sure you have one already or buy one at the same time. We have a small parasol base which isn’t really adequate if I’m being completely honest. This might be because I want the parasol out on the lawn and not to use with a table though. I’ll need to get a bigger, more stable base ready for next summer.
Using the parasol is really simple. On the pole there is a handle to turn to either open or close the parasol. It even has directions on it so you can’t get confused about which way to turn the handle. The handle is quite large as well so this also makes it easier to use.
Once the parasol is up and opened you also have the option to tilt the umbrella part. This is great for if the sun moves around the garden and you need to block it out in a certain way. A standard parasol umbrella cannot always do this so it’s great to be able to use it exactly how you need to. I will say though, as the parasol is quite large smaller people might struggle to be able to do this and get it back into the normal position again.
While we might not be able to use the parasol much more this year now that we’re into autumn I’m looking forward to getting out in the garden next summer and maybe sitting under here with a book on a really hot day.
