Updating Our Living Room With The Capri Coffee Table

Von Haus Capri Coffee Table

AD | Gifted item

Last month we had a mini makeover in the living room as we hard a new carpet fitted. It was such a massive job that should have probably been done years ago but it’s a huge room and it wasn’t cheap. Since then, the room has really been transformed and I’ve been trying to make it into the room I really want.

After having a bit of a move around we ended up with a lot more play space in the back half of the room which meant that we could do something different with the living room. Now that Erin is older and not as likely to bash her head on something I decided that we should have a coffee table again and we were very kindly sent the Capri Coffee Table from Von Haus.

This is from the Capri range where there are other items of furniture available such as a TV unit and a sideboard. If you are looking to add furniture to your room in the same colour and design then it’s nice to know that there at matching items in the range. At the time of this review, the Capri coffee table cost £74.99.

Out of the box the Capri coffee table took me and Mum about 2 hours to put together. This definitely could be done quicker but we used normal screwdrivers by hand and we also had the cats getting in the way and trying to eat everything they could get close to. However, all of the pieces were sorted out nicely and easy to find as we went along and the instructions were pretty clear and easy to follow.

This coffee table has gorgeous legs and they were one of the things that drew me towards this one. Having a 4 year old at home means that things get dropped all the time and I wanted to be able to clean under and around the table easily. These legs make this possible and they also look fantastic.

I also really like the fact that the coffee table has some storage. I hate clutter in the living room but before I didn’t have anywhere really to keep my laptop and cables when I’m not using it. The drawers are quite deep and can hold a lot which is ideal for us. We can keep all the things we need close to hand tidied away but easy to reach.

Although the drawers were probably the trickiest part of putting the table together they are pretty fab. They have soft closing drawers which helps keep Erin’s little fingers safe if she tries to slam them shut! The soft closing drawers all a really smooth feature to the coffee table and it’s something I would have expected from a more expensive piece of furniture.

At the back of the coffee table there is a special shelf. I think this is really supposed to be a sort of book shelf but we have named it the secret cat shelf for now. As soon as we had built the coffee table and put it in place, Jinx jumped straight on it to have a lay down. I think if we put anything else on it yet then it will just get knocked off but if you don’t have insane cats then it really would be a great place to keep books.

As soon as Erin got home from school she was so excited to see the coffee table. It’s not often we get new pieces of furniture or make big changes to room so it was quite a big thing for her. As you can see, she decided to lay on it immediately (although I have told her lots of time not to).

Erin is also really happy to have somewhere to sit in the living room. She’s now able to have a picnic lunch or dinner after nursery or chill out watching some cartoons while she does colouring at the same time. Having a coffee table has really helped to tie our living room together and to make it a more social place!
