AD – This post is in collaboration with Vintage Apple Crates. All opinions are our own.
Erin is such an outdoorsy child and I think from the minute she learned to walk, she wanted to be in the garden. We have had a good few weeks of bad weather lately but that doesn’t stop Erin from wanting to either play outside or go to the park. Unfortunately, our large lawn gets extremely muddy and disgusting during the winter and I’m a bit reluctant to let Erin play out there a lot of the time.
At home, all of Erin’s shoes live on the stairs because they are too small for the shoe rack and we really don’t have any other place to put them. One of the problems with this is that if Erin’s shoes are dirty then so do the stairs and that’s just a whole lot of cleaning up I don’t want to have to do. I recently discovered Vintage Apple Crates and we were kindly sent one of their ‘Muddy Boots’ crates.
The crate is made from the most popular and premium grade crate type so you can be assured that the quality is fantastic. Of course, there may be some slight variations in the colour and grain on the crate but I personally think this just adds a bit more character. It’s also nice to know that each of the letters is hand stencilled onto the crate. The crate measures 50 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm so it’s a really nice size.
I appreciate the fact that there is a bigger gap underneath the top slat as this makes it easier to carry the crate around. We won’t be moving it very often but I like that this has been thought about. It really shows the attention to detail and care for customer needs.
Just one trip into the garden can result in 3 very muddy and messy pairs of shoes and boots. The crate is such a great place to keep them because it means nowhere else has to get mucky. Also, having a place just for shoes and boots for playing outside in is a good idea for children. Keeping their shoes in the crate means children will easily know what they can wear outside and what they can’t.
Vintage Apple Crates have so many different options on the website and I already have my eye on another crate to use as a Christmas Eve box for the whole family!
