A medieval adventure at Nottingham Castle

AD | Press tickets Although I lived in Nottingham for 3 years while I was at university I didn’t really do any of the touristy things… which I really regret now. Right at the top of my places to visit with Erin was Nottingham Castle!

Every year over the early May Bank Holiday is Nort Every year over the early May Bank Holiday is North Walsham Children's Day.

The church yard is filled with stalls and fun games, animals to meet, and live music. There's also plenty of food options and lots of places in town open extra for the bank holiday.

Although we didn't visit for long this year, we always try even for a little bit.
One of the best things about living in Norfolk is One of the best things about living in Norfolk is the beaches, and we have so many great ones to choose from. Now that we rely on public transport again though, some beaches are a bit harder to get to.

Time and weather depending, me and Erin love getting the bus to Overstand and walking along the beach all the way to Cromer. The walk takes around an hour if you don't stop too much but it ends up taking us a bit longer than that normally.

It's a nice flat stretch of beach so quite easy to walk on, aside from a few areas where you'll need to pass on the stones. There's usually quite a few day walkers on this bit of beach, which is something Erin always looks forward to. Who doesn't love making friends with a dog?

Ending in Cromer means we have the option of both the bus and the train to get home, and there's loads of options if we want to get lunch somewhere first.
Wing Stop opened a while ago in Norwich but it's t Wing Stop opened a while ago in Norwich but it's taken us ages to find a time to go and try it.

Unsure of what to order, me and Erin decided to play it as safe as possible. We chose chicken strips (plain), boneless wings (BBQ) and sides of fries and sweet potato fries, along with 2 refillable drinks. This came to around £30, but afterwards we realised we could have done it differently and saved a little bit of money.

Wing Stop have 12 different options when it comes to flavours, from plain, to BBQ to the hottest which is 'Atomic'. Although we chose BBQ for our boneless wings, this is 4th up the heat ladder of flavours, meaning it still has a bit of a kick to it. We weren't expecting that but actually, the flavour was really nice and it's one I'd definitely get again.

Erin did try the boneless wings but much preferred the chicken tenders. 5 was a bit too much but we'd planned on sharing so I think next time we'd just get 3 of these.

Now that we've been once, I'm keen to try a couple of the other flavours but maybe not the hot ones!
We've just had our first @parkdeanresorts stay at We've just had our first @parkdeanresorts stay at Vauxhall Holiday Park and were blown away by the activities on offer. Instead of feeling like they were aimed at young children, or just children in general, there was something for everyone here.

We tried to book a bit of a variety during our stay including High Ropes, Hoverboards and Clip 'n Climb. These were on the more expensive side of the activities we booked, costing £15, £11 and £11 for those mentioned. Erin enjoyed each of them thoroughly though, and the instructors were fantastic when she needed a bit of extra help or encouragement.

Although there isn't much you can do for free, there is a park and you can go swimming. I booked our swimming slots online before our break, which I would advise, but you don't have to. Parkdean holds back some slots for walk-ins for each session however, there was always a huge queue outside for this.

What we really enjoyed the most was doing things as a family this time. The Fairground themed indoor golf was such good fun and won't break the bank at £8 for adults and £5 for children.

Also in Hat Tricks sports bar is interactive darts and shuffleboard. These cost £20 per hour but multiple people can play so it really works out at good value for money. We gave both of these a go, as well as having a few games of pool while we were waiting for other things.

Having been to a number of holiday parks in our time, this one had the best activities by far because there's more for us all to do together.
When I'm on holiday, even in a holiday park, I hat When I'm on holiday, even in a holiday park, I hate to cook. I know self-catering brings the costs down but I want to not have to think about that too much. @parkdeanresorts Vauxhall Holiday Park has some fantastic food options and we loved trying them out.

To make things as easy as possible, you can order from multiple locations on the app, and have food delivered to your accommodation or a table in Hat Tricks or the entertainment venue. Hat Tricks even has a board you can order on too!

We honestly had no complaints about any of the food we had during our stay, and we tried a bit of everything. We loved the ice cream, bubble waffles and crepes so much from Scoops that we went back most days to try something else.

The only negative I really have is that you're not really able to customise food on the app. We're a bunch of fussier eaters so not being able to order, say, a plain burger, meant we couldn't really use the app. If there was a way around this, I couldn't figure it out.

A little while ago my sister adopted a horse from A little while ago my sister adopted a horse from @redwingsUK for Erin. Obviously she didn't actually adopt the horse but sponsored it on Erin's behalf!

One of the great things with this is that you can actually go and visit these horses at Redwings, depending on where they live. Lucky for us, Foxy Four Socks lives at Redwings Caldecott, which isn't that far away from us so of course, we had to go and visit.

Entry to Redwings is free, but you can donate if you want to. You can even drop off some treats like carrots for the horses (but don't feed them yourself). Caldecott has a lovely gift shop across the road too with a little cafe.

Staff at reception are great at directing you around the site, and will be able to tell you where to find your adopted horse on the day. There's even a map so you can figure it out yourself if you want.

Erin loved meeting her horse, as well as seeing the others during our time at Caldecott. A lot of the horses are super friendly and love a fuss, which always makes our day!

Adoption costs as little as £2 a month or a one off payment of £25.
AD | Stomped my way into Here & Now at Norwich The AD | Stomped my way into Here & Now at Norwich Theatre Royal this week; a brand-new jukebox musical packed with the hits of Steps.

Set in a bright, chaotic supermarket, this show is full of colour, camp energy, and pure pop nostalgia. With iconic tracks like 5, 6, 7, 8, it’s a full-on feel-good night with plenty of fun (and a few completely bonkers moments… think drag queens on washing machines).

For me, it was a bit of a mixed bag. I loved the set, the energy, and the commitment to the Steps vibe and it honestly felt like a fever dream in the best way. The cast brought great vocals and personality, and there’s something really enjoyable about how unapologetically over-the-top it all is.

That said, parts of the storyline felt a little overcomplicated for such a light, fun show, and could’ve been pared back.

Overall: not my favourite, but definitely a fun night out if you’re a Steps fan and want something bright, nostalgic, and a little bit chaotic.
AD | Who would have thought that Erin would have a AD | Who would have thought that Erin would have a driving lesson before me?

Thanks to @youngdriveruk Erin was able to have her first lesson at age 10!

We were met by the super friendly team at the Norfolk Showground, who got Erin checked in and explained who her instructor would be.

After a short wait, Erin was in a car and driving off after only a few minutes, and then she was off!

The half an hour went really fast and Erin drove the whole time, learning how the gears work, indicating, turning and a little bit of parking.

Erin finished her lesson on such a high, which was great to see after she'd been so nervous beforehand.

You get a little book to track your progress, which ia fantastic if you want to book more lessons.

A 30 minute manual lesson costs around £55, with longer and automatic options available.
Did you manage to see Priscilla Queen of the Deser Did you manage to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert earlier this week while it was in Norwich?

The film is one of my all time favourites, and I saw a different version at Norwich Playhouse a few years ago. I was excited to see what this version was like though, and how true it stayed to the film.

@keviclifton (also from Grimsby) was so good as Tick/ Mitzi. I've seen Kevin in a few other shows (Strictly Ballroom and Everybody's Talking About Jamie) and he is yet to disappoint. His vocals are so much better than I ever imagined them to be, and he fits this role perfectly!

With regards to the film, the stage version stays pretty true to the story, with certain scenes being favourites with the audience. However, there are some changes to the soundtrack, with the addition of a fair few Kylie songs. I don't mind this though as it stayed with the theme of the show and Kylie is Australian so that fit really well too.

@priscillatourukhad is full of campness, great songs and fantastic costumes. From the minute the show started, I started to smile and I don't think I stopped until the very end. There's comedy, songs everyone knows and loves and I'm sure you'd find yourself wanting to sing along.
AD | @pensthorpeuk is one of our favourite days ou AD | @pensthorpeuk is one of our favourite days out and we couldn't wait to see what they had going on over Easter.

As well as the amazing brand new outdoor play area, there's the indoor play at Hootz House and a super fun Easter Egg Hunt!

Of course, there's the rest of Pensthorpe to explore, with other activities such as Pond Dipping, happening throughout the day.

Something we love about a day here, aside from being able to explore and be outside, is that there's so much to do and you can spend the whole day there. This is such a great value for money day out!
