Often the bedroom is low on the priority list when it comes to decorating. We tend to focus much of our energy on other areas of the home such as living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and kids’ bedrooms. However, the bedroom is our place to relax at night and so we deserve to have a space that we are proud of.
But, if you don’t fancy picking up a paintbrush, what can you do? Here are a few ways to add a zest of life into your bedroom without the need for paintbrushes.
New bedding
One of the first things to think about would be new bedding. Your bed is such a focal point of the room, so you can easily make it feel new and exciting by trying out different bed linen. Think about colours, patterns, and textures that will go with the existing wall colours. There are many different designs that you could get.
Cushions and blankets
If you are changing the bedding then you may want to think about some new cushions and blankets to dress it up. You could get cushions in a particular colour to pick out different tones in the bedding set. Blankets and throws add a luxurious feel to the bed when it is made.
Dress the window
The window is another huge feature of a room so why not take some time to consider what you could do with it? Maybe it might be time to invest in shutters or blinds, or perhaps get some new curtains that will match in with your bedding set. The window sill is an ideal place to showcase some of your favourite things and also pictures in photo frames. This brings me to my next point.
Fresh photos
We can all be guilty of not changing the photographs in our frames so now might be the time to do that. You could create a theme of black and white prints or just add some more recent ones of you, your partner, and your children. It can add a unique freshness to your room and is a lovely way to accessorise. A few new frames to match in with a different colour theme could also be worthwhile.
Create a feature wall
A feature wall is usually created with paint and wallpaper, but you can still make a feature out of a specific wall without doing this. Photos and pictures are a great way to make a feature from a wall. A photo and picture montage specifically on the wall of your room is easy to achieve, and if you focus on a theme such as black and white prints and also invest in different size frames it can look very effective.
New furniture
Finally, new furniture can always help a bedroom to feel brand new. This might mean a new mattress and bed, or even investing in new storage options so your bedroom can be more organised.
Hopefully, these suggestions will help you to add a new zest of life into your bedroom without pulling out the paintbrushes.
