Over the past couple of months while we have been spending a lot more time at home our garden has been a real special place for us. Without it, we would definitely not be doing as well as we are right now. Living in a small town means that we don’t have many options for long walks or places to explore and it can really feel like we are stuck at home sometimes.

I know how lucky we are to have a great outdoor space to call our own but sometimes it isn’t the easiest to take care of. Flymo recently sent the Flymo Easi Glide 300 hover mower, which is the number 1 selling lawnmower (out of all lawnmower brands and types) in the UK!

I don’t know about you but something I hate is putting things together (and so does John). No matter what we’re doing we somehow end up putting something together back to front, upside down or just absolutely wrong. The Flymo Easi Glide 300 comes ready to use out of the box so all you have to do is plug it in! The cable is actually really long but thanks to our patio area we needed to use an extension cable.

John is usually the one to do things like cut the grass but considering the name of this lawnmower, I wanted to give it a go myself to see if it really did glide easily over the grass. The mower is fairly heavy but not so much that I wasn’t able to use it myself. Our garden is quite uneven in spaces where there are patches with less grass and I did have to use slightly more energy here but it wasn’t impossible.

I did let John take over though because he was really eager to have a go himself. At just over 6ft, the handle is a good height and John didn’t struggle with it at all. For safety, there is a start button on the front handle that must be pressed first before using the lever handles (either side so great if you favour either your left or right hand).

Compared to our old lawn mower we found that the Easi Glide 300 collected a lot more of the cuttings than before. There was some blown out around the edges but there is a sort of rim around the bottom which collected most of this so it wasn’t left all over the garden. The grass box is really easily emptied and it hold 20L. For our garden we needed to empty this 3 times during the first use.

Another great feature of the Easi Glide 300 is that is has a fold down handle, meaning it’s a lot easier to store as it takes up less space. The handle was a little tricky to figure out the first time we folded it down but after that, it is really easy to remember how to do. We don’t always have a lot of space in our shed so this makes it a lot easier to find enough room for the lawnmower. I imagine this would fit in some larger storage boxes too.

As soon as Erin saw the new lawnmower she wanted to join in and quickly went to get her own Casdon Flymo toy. She spent ages seeing which bits looked the same and what cool features the Easi Glide 300 had! I imagine Erin will be wanting to help next time we need to cut the grass.

Sadly, lawnmowers don’t really get into edges very well, or close to fences, so we need to invest in a grass trimmer to tidy up those edges. However, the Flymo Easi Glide 300 does really help us to take care of our garden easily and to make it a nicer, tidier place to be.

Available to buy from flymo.co.uk or all good retailers.
