This week’s children’s book is all about Sunshine Stables. Willow and the Whizzy Pony by Olivia Tuffin. It was published by Nosy Crow and can be purchased on Amazon.
At Sunshine Stables, dreams become adventures! Young pony fans will love this fantastic pony club series from Olivia Tuffin.
Pony camp is the best thing Willow has ever done. She adores Luna, her chestnut pony, and just like her, Luna loves to run. Together, Willow feels they can do anything! When an older pony gets into trouble, Willow and Luna will need all their skills to save the day.
Packed with adventure and full of heart, Olivia’s huge knowledge and passion for ponies shines on every page. Beautifully illustrated throughout by Jo Goodberry, this is a perfect pony story for readers aged 7+.
Don’t miss the other Sunshine Stables stories!

- Amina and the Amazing Pony
We have another book from this series, Amina and the Amazing Pony, which Erin liked a lot so she was excited to be able to read more from the same setting. It’s always nice when children find a series of books that they really like because it means that they’re more likely to want to read more!
This chapter book is great for children around age 7+. The chapters are a bit longer than other chapter books and the text is that little bit smaller so there’s a fair bit more reading to do. If your child isn’t quite ready for this book it is still a good one for you to read together, as are the other books in this series.
This book follows Willow and her pony Luna, who both love to go fast! No matter how hard anyone tries, no one is as fast at Sunshine Stables pony camp and these two are the perfect pairing. Luna the pony seems to have a best friend too… Fable, and they don’t seem to want to be apart.
What I love about this series, and this book especially is the strong focus on friendships and working through issues. Erin’s had her fair share of ups and downs with friends at school already at age 6 and it’s knowing how to deal with things that helps. In this book Willow and another girl Emily don’t seem to be getting on very well but when something bad happens they need to learn to work together to sort it out.
Willow and the Whizzy Pony is full of excitement and adventure with loads of fun things happening along the way!
