With Halloween just around the corner I wanted to show you an awesome book today, We’re Going On A Pumpkin Hunt by Goldie Hawk and Angie Rozelaar. It was published by Nosy Crow and it can be purchased on Amazon*.

This Halloween-themed story has zingy neon ink on the cover and throughout, and is filled with cute characters and spooky surprises! Repeated phrases and sound words make this an interactive picture book, great for sharing with the whole family.
We’re Going On A Bear Hunt is such a famous story and I’m sure that it’s one that most of us know, and know well. Goldie Hawk has come up with a super cute (or should I say scary) retelling of the story just in time for Halloween. In this adventure, three friends go off to try to find a pumpkin!
The characters in the book are just adorable and they’re dressed as a skeleton, mummy, ghost and a witch… perfect for Halloween. The illustrations are really bright and colourful and they really have a fun Halloween feel to them without being scary at all. In fact, the children being all dressed up is only going to make children want to dress up more!
Each of the things the children encounter on their adventure are of course, things that you will associate with Halloween, such as cats and bats! There are lots of bits in the book where the children can join in, such as doing movements like the animals or even copying the kinds of sounds they make.
We’re Going On A Pumpkin Hunt is such a great addition to our Halloween themed books but I have no doubt that we’ll be reading it at other times of the year too.
