Having a family is one of the best things that can ever happen to you, but, as we all know, a family brings a lot of changes.
While we all know about the disruption babies bring, this doesn’t get any easier as the little ones get older. One of the biggest shocks that’ll come to any parent is the school run.
Getting them up, dressed, fed and in school by the time the bell goes can be a nightmare at times. But, how are you getting them to school?
If you don’t know how you’re going to get your kids to school, or if your current method isn’t working, you’ll find five ways to get them to school, below – one of which is sure to work for you.
Drive
The most common way, this is sure to be quick and easy, and you’ll even be able to get to work afterwards or back home quicker. It’s also great if it happens to be raining. However, due to the reliance of a car leading to leaving later, and therefore rushing, there has been some criticism around driving kids to school. Obviously, if it’s the only way you can do it, then so be it, but there are a few other ways that’ll help you save on petrol too.
Walking
Is the school close to you? If so, why don’t you walk? It’s great exercise and the littles ones may run into their friends on the walk too – you could even arrange to meet other parents along the walk and do it together.
School buses
If you’re quite far from the school, walking won’t do. But, if you don’t have a car it can be difficult. While you can always let your child jump on public transport, why not see if the school has a bus service it operates. Carpooling
Back to driving. If you want to be a bit more conscious, you and your parent friends could always opt for a carpool. This way, the kids will get to school quickly and safely, but, by taking it in turns, it’ll help to reduce the number of cars on the road going to the school.
