Being a busy parent means that I run around after Erin all the time. We are a non-driving family and this can mean walking a lot on any average day. That might be taking Erin to and from school, it might be doing a weekly food shop and it might be going on a long walk along our local canal. I need shoes that will get me through the day without aches, pains or blisters from new shoes rubbing.
I’ve tried so many different kinds of shoes over the years but nothing has been just right. However, a brand that I had heard great things about is Hotter Shoes and I recently had the opportunity to try out a pair of their Island Sandals. Available in sizes 3 to 9, with some half sizes there is a great range to choose from. This particular style is available in slim fit, standard and also wide fit. Not everyone has ‘standard’ size feet so I think it’s great that there are so many options to choose from.
Something I always struggle with is finding wide fit shoes that actually fit well. Sometimes the straps aren’t quite right, sometimes they’re too wide and sometimes the style doesn’t suit the shape of my feet. I chose the Island Sandal in a size 5 wide fit and they fit perfectly. There is just enough room at the front of the shoe and the leather sits nicely on my skin without digging in anywhere.
As soon as I tried the sandals on I was really impressed with how comfortable they were. My actual words were ‘they’re like walking on clouds’. However, we all know that new shoes may feel fantastic around the house but the real test is wearing them out and having a normal day in them. I’ll be honest and say that I’ve had so many pairs of shoes that I thought were great only to be left in pain because they have rubbed in places such as the back of my ankles.
I decided to give these sandals a real test and for the first time wearing them for more than 10 minutes, I went for a really long walk down a local canal. Of course, being new shoes this could have been a really bad idea. The walk is around 10,000 steps but I am so happy to say that my feet didn’t hurt at all. The ankle straps were really comfortable and they didn’t dig in or rub anywhere at all.
As I chose the Island sandals in black it means that they will go with a lot of my wardrobe. I wanted a pair of versatile sandals that I could dress up or down and I’ve definitely got that. I have been so impressed with Hotter Shoes so since getting these sandals I have bought myself another 2 pairs (they had a great 2 for £79 offer)!

That’s such a bargainous offer. They look lovely. I think I’ve lived in trainers and flip flops for the entirety of lockdown.
I love Hotter Shoes, but I need to wear special insoles which don’t really work with sandals. Just as well we don’t get sandal weather that often in Scotland, haha.
I keep meaning to try out some shoes from Hotter Shoes as I’ve heard such good things about the comfort and fit. These sandals look lovely!
Love them! they do look so comfy. I have a pair of boots from 4 years ago and they are still in such good nick!
Hotter shoes are so lovely aren’t they! Those black ones look gorgeous and I can definitely imagine how comfortable they are. I started out with just wearing Hotter Boots, but now have the sol sandals which you can adjust over the toes. Bliss. xx
