As part of the Interlude in the Close in Norwich this year we were invited to go and see Sarah and Duck’s Big Top Birthday, which runs from 10th August to 14th August.
The enchanting world of Sarah and Duck is brought to life featuring the wonderful characters from the BAFTA award-winning CBeebies show.
Join Sarah and Duck and a host of your favourite friends including The Ribbon Sisters, The Shallots, Flamingo & John and Umbrella, as they plan a birthday party for Scarf Lady in their garden.
Told through a fantastic blend of puppetry, storytelling and music, Sarah and Duck’s Big Top Birthday will take you and your children on a magical adventure.
Ready for a girl’s day out, myself, Erin and Grandma headed out to Norwich ready to watch Sarah and Duck’s Big Top Birthday at Interlude in the Close. We were so happy to see the big top back in it’s new location for this year and we couldn’t wait to take our seats to see the show.
Sarah and Duck’s Big Top Birthday is filled with singing, dancing and silliness, perfect for the whole family. Audience participation is encouraged in various different parts with clapping and Erin really enjoyed these parts. She really does love to get involved with whatever is going on.
There was a great mix of characters in addition to Sarah and Duck with the likes of The Ribbon Sisters, The Shallots, Flamingo & John and Umbrella, as they plan a big top birthday party for Scarf Lady. The cast controlling the puppets were fantastic and really made the story magical.
At around an hour long with no interval, this is just the right length of time to keep even the younger children engaged throughout. The atmosphere was quite relaxed with some of the younger children in the audience running up to the stage and have the freedom to not be glued to their seats if they didn’t want to sit still.
Sarah and Duck’s Big Top Birthday can be seen until 14th August.
