5 Ways To Boost Your Mood

5 Ways To Boost Your Mood

AD | Collaborative post

I’ll be completely honest, 2020 hasn’t been the best year so far. The news has been full of doom and gloom, we’ve had more storms in a short space of time and Coronavirus seems to be taking over everything. While we have to pay attention to what’s going on around us it’s also important to make sure we stay in good spirits and look after our mental health. So, with that in mind I wanted to offer a few ways to help you boost your mood.

Lose yourself in a book

Over the years I have gone through phases with reading. I don’t have quite as much time as I would like now but when there is a lot going on it can be hard to turn your mind off. Curling up on the couch, or in bed, with a good book can really help to take your mind off of other things. It doesn’t matter what genre of book that you like but it is important that we take time out to relax and do something other than worry about what the news is telling us.

Treat yourself

Now, I’m not saying to go out and spend a fortune on anything here because let’s face it, we could all need to make sure we have an emergency fund in place soon. However, I do think that we all deserve to have something nice when things are a bit rough. You might want to treat yourself to your favourite cake from the bakery, maybe you want to go out for a catch up with a friend or maybe you want to give yourself a new look and natural hairline lace front wigs could be the way to do that.

Random acts of kindness

What better way to give your boost a mood than to do something nice for others. There are so many things you could do as a random act of kindness from checking in on neighbours, sending hand written letters to friends and family or maybe even baking delicious treats for people you know. One small thing for someone else will make you feel amazing!

Go for a walk

I hate being stuck in the house and of course, if you have to self-isolate then this isn’t an option for you at the moment. However, if you are able to then getting out of the house will really lift your spirits. You might only make it for a walk around the block, across the road to stretch your legs or to the shop to see if you can get some bread but it will be worth it. Now, if you are self-isolated then you might be able to get out into the garden if you have one just for some fresh air.

Dance it out

John bought me a Bluetooth speaker for my birthday and while we were away last week Erin and I made the most of it. We turned the volume up and danced around our lodge for about 15 minutes. We sang songs at the top of our voices and we danced not caring at all what we looked like. Erin and I laughed so much and we had a blast together. I definitely think we’ll be doing more of this over the next few weeks.

I’d love to know what you do to cheer yourself up and give yourself a mood boost!
