Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts

Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts

Brussel spouts, whether you like them or not, are a traditional part of Christmas dinner. I, personally, am not a fan myself but my husband John LOVES them. The problem with Christmas dinner is that there is so much to do, only a certain number of hobs available on the cooker and not enough time to really do everything you want. I want to spend Christmas Day with my family, watching Erin opening her presents and having fun so I decided to experiment a bit and see what I could cook in my air fryer.

The great thing about this recipe is that there is very little work to it and very little prep time. This is a case of chop them up, coat them in a very small amount of oil and throw them in the air fryer really. You can also had a bit of honey and salt and pepper to the mix to change the flavour slightly but that’s completely down to personal preference. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for busy families on a normal Sunday and even better for Christmas dinner because it’s one thing you can cross off your list quickly.

I never would have thought Brussel sprouts in the air fryer would work. However, don’t expect these to be anything like what they would be if you boiled them in the traditional way. These Brussel sprouts come out quite crispy with a slight charred taste to them. If you wanted them to be less crispy you could par boil them for a few minutes before putting in the air fryer and they would still have the same kind of taste.

The great thing about these Brussel sprouts is that they can be done in advance. You can cook the sprouts and then leave them for a few hours before reheating in the air fryer again for a few minutes. I think this is ideal for Christmas Day because really, you could do them the night before if you wanted to and keep them in the fridge.
