BABY born Soft Touch Brother And Bathtub Review

Last week you may have read our review of the BABY born soft touch sister and the amazing remote control scooter! Well, this week we’re reviewing a couple of new products; the BABY born soft touch brother, bathtub and a super cute bathrobe!

A big brother!

I’ll be honest here and say that when it comes to toy dolls I do think of them more as girls. I think that’s probably down to the fact that any doll I remember, or that Erin has had so far has in fact been a girl. When we were asked to review the BABY born soft touch brother I was quite excited about it. I wanted Erin to know that dolls aren’t just girls and they you can have so much fun with a brother doll.

In the box you’ll find the doll itself, shoes to go with his outfit, a water bottle, a comb and a set of matching bracelets. I do feel that the sister doll comes with a few more accessories though as has a bottle, hair brush and hair grips and bobbles. However, I love the outfit the brother doll is wearing, especially as he has a cool hat!

Just like with other BABY born dolls, the brother can drink real water out of the bottle, cry and go in the bath so there’s a lot you can do with him. The realistic features can help children to extend role play sessions and to expand their imagination.

Rub a dub dub

It’s very safe for the BABY born dolls, including the soft touch brother and sister, and they can all go in the fantastic BABY born bathtub. Something I love about the BABY born products is that a lot of them can be used with multiple products so the bathtub can be used with any of the dolls up to 43cm. I think this makes them much better value for money as they can be used more often.

Something else that BABY born does well is making their products as realistic as possible. Not only does the bathtub come with a cute rubber duck to play with but there is also a working shower. The BABY born bathtub comes with ‘try me’ batteries but you will need to replace these in order for the shower to work properly. I did try to use the shower while these were still in but nothing happened. I think it would be easy for people to think the shower was faulty at this point so I wanted to make sure to mention this.

Once you have new batteries in the bathtub it’s really a lot of fun. The water needs to be at a minimum level but not too high either (see instruction manual). The brother doll sits nicely in the bathtub with quite a bit of room for movement and play splashing. I used clear water for the purpose of the photos but using a tiny bit of bubble bath also works really well.

Getting dry

After that lovely bath what better than to get your brother doll wrapped up in the BABY born bathrobe, which comes in both pink and blue. Again, this item of clothing is suitable for all BABY born dolls up to 43cm.

BABY born bathrobe

The bathrobe is made from waffle pique fabric and has a lovely bear design on the front as well as a hood and tie around the waste. The bathrobe is really easy to get on and off the dolls and I think it really helps to extend the bath time play. The doll does take quite a while to get really dry thanks to water coming out of the bends in arms and legs etc. so it might be an idea to use a real towel before putting the bathrobe on to save it getting soaked!

Erin has wanted to be able to give her dolls a bath for a long time now and now she can! Getting these three products together make a really lovely set and something children can spend hours and hours playing with.
