BRIO Classic Figure 8 Review

One of Erin’s favourite toys is her BRIO wooden pram. She loved it from the minute she got it and plays with it every single day. So, when we had the opportunity to try the BRIO Classic Figure 8 set we jumped at the chance. Erin has a massive love for trains and knows as soon as we get near the train station where we are going.

In the box you get:

  • 14 pieces of train track
  • 3 trees
  • 1 train station
  • 1 bridge
  • 3 pieces of train

The set is really easy to put together (if you’re an adult doing it) and it took me a couple of minutes. The track pieces are quite large and press into each other with easy. Although Erin has small hands I still think she would be able to do some of this herself with a bit of help and guidance.

Instead of just being a box full of track pieces this one comes with some lovely accessories. I think what makes this set so lovely is that you get a little train station, bridge for the middle of the figure 8 and also some trees. These kinds of additions to a set help to make it that bit extra special and to help children to imagine it being something real.

The train that comes with the set is magnetic and I love this. Erin sometimes get really frustrated with trains that connect with one piece fitting into another as sometimes they don’t stay together really well. The train having three pieces means that Erin can play with it as she wishes and if it’s easier for her then she can just use the one piece if she wishes.

The BRIO Classic Figure 8 set is a wonderful starter set for young children. There are expansion packs available which means you can easily add to your child’s collection for birthdays and Christmas and they would also make great gifts for other children.

BRIO products are always such good quality and the BRIO Classic Figure 8 set is no exception. No batteries are needed for this set and because it’s made from wood, it’s likely to last longer than some other toys.

Be sure to check out the video below to see the set being put together!

You can buy the set on Amazon for around £30-£35.
