Erin loves to get involved with everything that we have going on and that includes cleaning and doing certain chores around the house. When she finally stopped being scared of the vacuum cleaner she wanted to help. Obviously, this isn’t something Erin is able to do on her own so instead, she follows me around holding the cable to help me out.
Now that Erin is 3, she wants to do even more though and isn’t happy with some of the things I tell her. She doesn’t believe me when I say something doesn’t work or that she’s not old enough to do something else any more. Instead of following me around while I clean up she now has the Casdon Toy Dyson Cord-free Vacuum Cleaner to use herself!
Inside the box you’ll find the 4 pieces of the toy and it is really simple and quick to put together. If you want to use all of the features then you will need 3xAA batteries.
Just like a regular vacuum cleaner, the pieces fit together easily and there are various ways that you can use this toy. The Dyson can be used as a short, handheld vacuum cleaner by using the crevice tool. It can also be used as a full vacuum cleaner if you use the long handle along with the roller nozzle. Each of the pieces click together and you can see where each bit fits by looking for the red sections/ buttons as you can see below.
The Casdon Toy Dyson Cord-Free Vacuum Cleaner is aimed at children aged 3+ and Erin has no problem with changing how the vacuum cleaner looks and which pieces are connected. Erin is able to choose how to play with this toy and doesn’t need me to help her every couple of minutes when she changes her mind.
While a lot of things have been thought about with the Casdon Toy Dyson Cord-Free Vacuum Cleaner I do think there was 1 thing missing. As anyone with a small child knows, things go missing and I fear that the crevice tool will very quickly get lost. A small clip somewhere would have been a great idea so all of the pieces could be kept together.
What I love the most about the Casdon Toy Dyson Cord-Free Vacuum Cleaner is that it works like a real vacuum cleaner would. The simulated cyclone action zone moves the coloured balls around and the suction actually works. Of course, you can’t do any real cleaning with this toy but it will pick up tiny pieces of paper or dust, which can be emptied out!
The Dyson is light enough for children to carry around and use for quite some time without it being too bulky or heavy. Erin can quite happily help me clean up for quite some time especially when she changes the nozzles to help clean different areas of a room. I also like that when not being used, the Dyson can be stood upright and stored in a small-ish space. Alternatively, the pieces can be disconnected from one another and it can all be stored safely in a box instead.
