The weather seems to finally be changing and we have warmer and lighter days ahead of us. We love to get outside in the back garden and sometimes we can be out there for hours. It’s important to have a range of different things for children to play with in the garden and we love finding new ways for Erin to play.
One of Erin’s favourite garden activities is to have a Tuff Tray set up. Having this outside means that we’re able to do all different kinds of set ups and not have to worry about the mess. We were recently sent some amazing construction vehicles from Cat toys and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to play with a construction site.
The smaller toys, the Mini Crew vehicles and the Little Machines (pack of 5) are absolutely perfect for this kind of sensory play. The size of the toys are great for tiny hands and they have all move like they’re supposed to, so children can really immerse themselves in the construction world.
Erin spent such a long time playing with the different materials I’d set out for her, scooping up sand with the diggers, moving the stones and cereal around with the truck and pretending that she had lots of different tasks to carry out. Each vehicle has movable parts so they can pick up different things and move them around. Obviously, the size of these vehicles mean that you can play with them almost anywhere.
Cat also have some amazing larger toys with the Power Hauler Vehicles. These toys come with flashing lights and engine and reversing sounds. The larger vehicles do fit on the Tuff Tray and Erin used them to move around some of the heavier duty items such as large stones! The large rubber wheels are fantastic for rolling over the sand and crunching some of the smaller items I used such as cornflakes and rice crispies.
All of the Cat toys mentioned in this post are available now instore and online at Tesco. Cat toys are also available at George.com, The Entertainer and Amazon.
We have had lots of these toys and my youngest two still love to play with them. They are great tough toys and Erin looks like she is really enjoying them.
My son absolutely loves having a construction yard set up on his tuff tray. We live very near a CAT vehicle supplier so we regularly drive past lots and lots of CAT construction vehicles all lined up which is his idea of heaven!
Ooh my little boy would love those trucks. We’re totally pinching this idea for our tuff tray 🙂
Wow, what a fun and engaging playtime idea! Creating a construction site with Cat toys and a Tuff Tray is a fantastic way to spark imagination and sensory exploration. The variety of vehicles, from Mini Crew to Power Hauler, offer endless possibilities for little hands to dig, scoop, and transport materials. It’s wonderful to see how much joy and creativity this play setup brought to Erin. Kudos to Cat for providing such exciting toys! 🚧🚜💡
