This past Christmas we replaced Erin’s plastic toy kitchen with a lovely wooden one from IKEA and it has been the most played with toy since then. Additional accessories really help the longevity of a toy like this and I knew she would love the Dantoy baking set.*

This set comes with 12 fantastic pieces including a bowl, whisk, rolling pin and various cookie cutters. The colours of the pieces are quite subdued compared with some other children’s toys but that’s not something either me or Erin mind. In fact, the colour matches another of Erin’s Dantoy sets so it works well. Because of this, Erin knew immediately which other items would work well with these pieces.

Erin couldn’t wait to get right into the Dantoy baking set and quickly got out all of the pieces. We talked about how Erin might be able to use some of the different pieces and how she has already used some of them when we bake in the kitchen properly. Erin was particularly impressed with each of the cookie cutters and it didn’t take her long to say that she wanted to make real cookies at home with them.

The set is really great for role playing and Erin enjoyed pretending to add different ingredients into the bowl and to think up what she might be making. Each piece of the set is really well made and is of excellent quality and I think that this really helped Erin to use her imagination so well. It really felt like Erin was making something in the kitchen with this toy.

Dantoy is a great eco choice when it comes to toys. Their bioplastic range is made of at least 90% sugarcane, and the bioplastic is 100% recyclable. What’s more, the toy comes in a recycled cardboard box.
