For the past couple of months most of us haven’t been going out as much. Shops have been shut until recently and we have been looking to shopping online more to get the things we need. Something that I thought about recently was being able to purchase gifts for people who we might not be able to see in person. Shopping online is ideal for this as it means you can get the gift delivered direct to the recipient. We posted about men’s gifts a couple of weeks ago but today we’re talking about housewarming gifts. I don’t think there will be housewarming parties for a while so here are some ideas of gifts you can purchase online!
First impressions definitely count and I personally notice the little things when I go to someone’s house. What better way to welcome people into your new home than with the Hello Doormat from Red Candy. It’s bright and cheerful and it will definitely stand out on your doorstep.
Something I personally hated when we moved in to our house was how bare the walls were. Everything had been painted in white emulsion and it was very plain and boring. A print, such as this plant print from Aiya Home will certainly cheer up a room! There are plenty of prints to choose from so this could be the start of a beautiful gallery wall.
Sometimes moving to a completely new area can mean not really knowing what the water is like. I moved from Nottingham to Norfolk and the water is really different down here. A ZeroWater filter could really help someone in a hard water area (like us) and it is something you might not think about when moving house.
Remember the first night in a new house? Everything is in boxes and you have no idea where the crockery or cutlery is! A Chouseki Ramen Bowl from Sous Chef could help the recipient enjoy a delicious but simple meal on their first night (and many more afterwards).
I have to be honest and say that we probably don’t look after our kitchen knives as well as we should do. If we do this then I’m sure loads of other people do too. Instead of buying a new set of knives as a housewarming gift you could get an Anysharp Pro instead! This snazzy little gadget is a fantastic knife sharpener that will actually save people money in the long run, as they won’t be replacing blunt knives! They come in different colours and you can buy them from Amazon.
Maybe the person you’re buying for likes to be eco friendly. While there are a whole range of products you could buy as a housewarming gift here, I really like the idea natural, organic cleaning products from The Squeeky Shop. There are different options available and refills can be purchased when the bottle runs out, meaning you don’t need to buy plastic bottles to replace it!
Do you remember moving out for the first time? I remember being a bit stuck for ideas when it comes to food and not knowing what to cook every day. The Dairy Book of Home Cookery is filled with fantastic ideas from classic meals to something you might want to try for the first time. Having all of these recipes handy in one book means they’re easy to get to and you can figure out what ingredients you might need easily.
What would you buy as a housewarming gift? Let me know!

What a great range of gift ideas. There really is something for everyone. The water filter is an especially great idea. I couldn’t be without mine living in hard water Kent!
I love the door mat! I totally want one like that for our flat. I don’t think we received any house warming gifts.
I love these range of gifts. I’d love that welcome mat and we’ve lived here for five years!
