A little while ago now we received a fantastic The Very Hungry Caterpillar themed bundle and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in to it. The bundle contained a whole range of products but what I noticed the most was that it was full of things for toddlers to do. I really struggle sometimes to think of things to do with Erin and these products will be great for thinking of some fun activities while the weather is terrible!
Lunchtime is always a bit of a struggle with Erin. You can never really tell whether she’s in the mood for eating or not, even when she says she wants some food. The Very Hungry Caterpillar has loads of different items to help with mealtimes.
We absolutely love the selection plate from Portmeirion. Erin is able to find pictures and letters as she finishes food in each section. She’s really starting to learn colours and the pictures and letters are really helpful.
We try to eat as many meals together as a family as we can and also sit at the table together until everyone is finished. Erin, being nearly 2, isn’t very good at sitting and waiting for other people to finish their food. She tends to want to get down straight away or have something else if we’re having pudding. We don’t like to let her get down until we’re all finished so we have to find ways to keep her happy and entertained. The Works have a fantastic book of The Very Hungry Caterpillar placemats which have loads of different activities to do. The book is perfect for at home but it’s also fab for taking out to restaurants as well. It’s always nice to have some colouring on hand if you’re out having a meal!
We’re going on our first family holiday to Centre Parcs next week and I know there will be some times where we need to keep Erin busy. We won’t be out all day every day so some time will be spent in our lodge. I have been saving this fantastic activity tin to take away with us because it’s full of colouring and activity books, a poster, 50 fun stickers, and felt-tips (we’ll be swapping with crayons). Everything is nicely contained and it will be easy for us to travel with.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar also has two fantastic activity books but Erin is a bit too young for them yet. In these books children can learn to growl like a bear, play spot the difference and also make a caterpillar door hanger! I can’t wait for Erin to be old enough to use these books as they look super fun.
These are just a few of the items we got in our fantastic bundle but they’re so much fun. We’ll be posting more about the other items on social media as we use them! As Christmas is coming round quickly why not think about giving one of these as a gift this year?!
