Making Meal Times Easier With AO.com

Not too long ago our 7+ year old microwave died. What we thought was an exploded meal was actually rust and it just wasn’t working as well as it should. It took quite some time to actually think about how old that microwave was and we still can’t decide. Either I bought it while I was at university or John bought it when he first moved into our old flat. Whichever it was, it was really old and I think the cheapest we could get at the time. It certainly wasn’t anything special. It wasn’t even digital. Luckily, AO.com came to the rescue and sent us a Sharp microwave in silver.

I don’t have the time for complicated appliances so it’s great that this Sharp microwave is really easy to use. Even without reading the instruction manual I was able to figure out how to use the basic settings on the microwave as well as having a bit of a play with some of the other settings. The buttons are a lovely size and you don’t have to press too hard to make them work. I really love that you can set the microwave’s clock as well as we don’t have one in the kitchen. I know this is only something small but it makes a bit of a difference for me. The microwave also has a kitchen timer function for when you are cooking not using the microwave!

This microwave has some great easy settings. As you can see from the picture below you can set the microwave to defrost based on time or weight of the product. You can also cook certain items with the press of only one button. The jacket potato setting for example defaults to 1 potato to start with and then as you increase that number, the time increases too. There is also a quick function for pizza and a dinner plate which is great. The quick functions are things I would actually heat up in the microwave and Sharp seem to have really thought about this.

As a family of 3 we usually have quite a lot going on. Erin goes to nursery 3 days a week and comes home exhausted and mostly, wants something to eat immediately. Having a great microwave like this one from Sharp means Erin not having to wait to long for her dinner. John works 6 days a week most of the time and especially at this time of the year, works quite a few late nights. I have usually eaten by the time he gets home so the microwave is perfect for heating up some leftovers and means John doesn’t have to wait a long time for his dinner!

We really love our new Sharp microwave and it’s making life a lot easier for us! I have no idea how anyone copes without one!
