AD | Collaborative post

Just hearing the term ‘resort wear’ has us day dreaming of long afternoons spent poolside at a luxurious resort or strolling along the coast of a Mediterranean town as the sun begins to set. To achieve that laid back yet elegant style means combining quality cuts, lightweight and breathable fabrics, relaxed silhouettes and fresh, summery colour schemes for the ultimate summertime look.

If you’re heading on your first tropical vacation in a while or simply looking to refresh your summer wardrobe, we’ve put together some of our must have resort wear style pieces to ensure you step out looking incredible all season long.

Simple White Dress

Much like the ever flattering and versatile little black dress, a simple white dress is an absolute must when it comes to our vacay wardrobe. Whether it’s a flowing, A-line maxi dress, elegant midi or fun mini dress, it’s the perfect piece to take you from a lowkey afternoon lunch to a romantic sunset dinner with the addition of a few chic accessories. Pair a white dress with a gorgeous woven sun hat and leather sandals for a put together daytime look or finish with a pair of statement gold earrings and wedges for the perfect dinner ensemble.

Two Piece Set

Another fashion forward and versatile outfit choice is a coordinating two piece set. Whether you’re experimenting with splashes of colour and stunning prints or prefer to keep it simple with a monochrome look, a two piece set is ideal for a finished look minus the effort. These pieces can be paired together or worn separately with your favourite basics, bold complimentary colours or statement prints for an endless combination of looks to suit any occasion.

Bold Colours

From a summertime stay-cation in your home city to a week on a tropical island, a getaway is the perfect excuse to trade our usual deep, neutral tones for bold, bright hues. Vivid blues reminiscent of the picturesque summer sky, bright shades of orange and radiant yellows will take you from the beach to an afternoon of exploring through to evening cocktails. Pair with neutral accessories or opt for a monochrome look and choose shoes and a cross body bag in different shades of the same colour.

Finishing with accessories in various shades of the same colour ties together this statement look. Look for vibrant, summer shades such as the beautiful yellow of the Kasia Dress (left) or stunning blue Arella Dress (right).

When searching for the ideal pieces to add to your summer resort wear wardrobe, look for flowing silhouettes in breathable, quality fabrics and experiment with bright colours and stunning prints to nail your look every time.
