Something I’ve never really been able to understand is how to play chess. People have tried to explain to me in the past but it’s never really clicked for some reason. The thing I don’t tend to be able to remember is which piece can move where so I get very confused between each go.
We were recently sent Chess Teacher – How to play the game from Wicked Uncle and although it’s aimed at age 6+, it’s something I can absolutely make use of myself, and teach Erin how to play at the same time. Sometimes, it’s really love to learn something new together and this could be the thing for me and Erin.
This clever set from Cardinal removes the major problem of learning chess, how the different pieces move. Each piece is marked with its name and arrows showing the directions in which it can legally move and how many spaces. The large (2-inch), hollow pieces are lightweight with extra-wide bases, giving them stability and comes with a folding board. A great help when being taught this great game – soon to be mastered!
