5 Dream Christmas Holiday Destinations

5 Dream Christmas Holiday Destinations

It’s the middle of December and the weather is getting worse and worse. Unfortunately, we don’t get lovely snowy winters here in the UK and instead we tend to get loads of rain and some slush after it snows. I don’t think I can ever remember having a white Christmas here and it’s things like this that make me want to go away for Christmas. So, today I thought I’d bring you my 5 dream Christmas holiday destinations.

Lapland

Who doesn’t want to go to Lapland? What better place to celebrate the magic of Christmas than to be surrounded by snow, the Northern Lights, husky sledge rides and reindeer? The problem with going to Lapland is that it seems to cost an absolute fortune for only a couple of nights. I’m not sure I could ever justify the cost but I know how truly amazing it could be.

New York

John and I have actually already been to New York. We went in September 2015 when I was about 6 months pregnant with Erin. That probably wasn’t the best idea I’ve ever had but we actually booked it before we knew I was pregnant. New York is a pretty amazing city and people go mad for it at Christmas. I would love to see Central Park covered in snow, all of the amazing Christmas decorations and lights and all of the shops. I’m not sure I’d want to go while Erin is this small though because I know what it’s like to get about in the snow but when she’s older for sure!

Toronto, Canada

I lived in Toronto for a year from 2007-2008 and it is the only Christmas I have spent out of the country. I happened to go during one of the worst winters that they’d had in 10 years and there was A LOT of snow. I had a white Christmas, built a snowman and was not disappointed at all. I have always wanted to take John to show him why I loved Toronto so much and I would love to go on a family holiday there in winter.

Center Parcs

We only visited Center Parcs for the first time this year and we loved every minute of it. Over winter Center Parcs have a winter wonderland which I’m assured is pretty magical. Erin loves the outdoors and animals and I can’t imagine a place that Erin would enjoy more. I’ve always had this thing about staying in a cabin somewhere for Christmas and Center Parcs would be my first choice now. How cozy would it be to have the fire going and to see the deer and rabbits running around outside?

Orlando, Florida

Okay, so this one is really different. John and I got married in Orlando and we loved it there. I think it’s probably my happy place. While Erin is young I think it would be pretty amazing to spend Christmas somewhere warm and also be able to go to one of the happiest places on Earth. I know John would love it too.
