BRIO Classic Train Review

BRIO Classic Train Review

Erin has now been going to nursery for nearly half a year and since she started, she has come home liking all different ways of playing and different kinds of toys. She is so interested in how things work and pulling things apart and putting them back together again. Nursery, along with Thomas the Tank Engine and regular family trips has sparked Erin’s interest in trains. She loves to go on them and loves to look out for them when she knows we’re near the train station so what better than a toy train from BRIO.

BRIO Classic Train

The BRIO Classic Train retails at around £17.99 and is suitable for children aged 2+. The Classic Train comes with 5 pieces which are: 1x Engine, 2x Wagons, 2x Loads. BRIO have a whole range of train products including track sets, expansion packs, different vehicles and also play sets. The possibilities are endless really with BRIO products!

BRIO Classic Train

This is a perfect starter train for little hands. As it comes with 5 simple pieces a 2 year old will be able to play with it really easily. With 5 pieces, this train set is just the right size to teach toddlers how to put the pieces together and how the magnets work. A bigger set may seem a bit intimidating and hard. Erin likes to start off with something a bit easier that she knows she can probably do and work herself up to something a bit more complicated.

Magnets are not something that Erin uses on a daily basis so I really loved that there are only three pieces of train to connect together. Fewer pieces make it possible to allow children at toddler age to figure things out for themselves without getting it wrong too often, which could result in frustration.

Along with the three main pieces of the train there are also 2 loads which can be placed on top. The Classic Train is a lovely but basic piece of kit but it really is a great place to start if your child is new to BRIO. Also, it’s a great additional piece if you already have some other BRIO sets.

Something I love the most about BRIO products is that they don’t need batteries and they are so well made. A product such as the Classic Train can lasts years and years if looked after and I know that this will be something that Erin will play with for a long time to come.
