John and I are not really the best people when it comes to DIY. We don’t really know what we’re doing and I think we’re both a bit scared that we’re going to do something wrong or end up with a big hole in the wall. There are some jobs we can do ourselves though and one of the most recent has been a gallery wall in our dining room. Our tool collection is a bit of a mess and it’s really a box full of random nails, and screws etc. and we can never

My 10 Minute Gallery Wall
I have said this many times; my house is a fixer upper. We knew this when we bought it 4 years and and we are nowhere nearly done with what needs doing. Actually, we’re probably not even 10% of the way done but we had Erin earlier than expected and work suddenly stopped. Anyway, one of my most hated rooms in the house is the living room. It’s about 25ft long with an additional bit coming off to make an L shape. When we moved in most of the house had been painted white and
The House That Hates Us
You ever think that maybe you bought the wrong house? That’s me quite a lot of the time this year. When we bought our house 4 years ago we knew that it needed a lot of work doing to it, which was partly why we were able to afford to buy it. We started off really well and had some massive jobs done early on like changing the fuse board and having the electrics tested. We also completely gutted the back garden, had new fences, turf and decking. Then, we ripped out 2 bedrooms and
Small Changes To Your Home That Make A Big Difference
Being a homeowner myself, I know firsthand about getting bored or annoyed with how the house looks. We have a fixer-upper and so often I think about selling up and moving somewhere that needs less work. When you’re feeling like this though there’s no need to make massive decisions and do things you may regret. Julian Charles are running a great campaign at the minute called Renovate, Redecorate, Inspire and you can search it on social media using #RenovateRedecorateInspire Add Some Colour When we moved into our house, the previous owners decided to splash white
Easter Weekend DIY
With John being home over the Easter weekend I thought it would be a really good time to try to get a couple of things done around the house. Easter weekends seems to be a time when a lot of households dust of their paintbrushes and tools and get to work. Our living room/ dining room is pretty big and it goes off into an ‘L’ shape at the back. This used to be our library but with Erin pulling and climbing everything, the bookcases had to go. That small space has been an awful
A busy week
This past week John and I have been off work. It was my birthday this week and I have never, ever worked this week in my life so I always take a week off as a holiday. Sometimes we go away but this year we have had a lot to do around the house and we also aren’t ready to leave Jackson in kennels if we want to go away. This week I had a lot of plans, much to John’s dismay. He really would rather relax when we get a week off work together but
