A little while ago we reviewed another book in this series that we loved; How to be a footballer so when I saw this book I thought it would be just as good. This book covers how to be a vet, as well as other animal jobs.
The book is set up in a really nice way, with every chapter being clearly labelled in the front of the book. Here, you can see what topics are being covered and then find a bit your child is interested in. You don’t have to start right at the beginning of the book if you don’t want to although that is an obviously good place to begin.
Some children might not have any idea about what a vet is or what they do so I really liked that there is a page dedicated just to this. It covers all sorts from what a vet does as well as some of the equipment they might use and what they use it for. This page also offers an explanation of different kinds of vets and what they might do.
How to Be a Vet and Other Animal Jobs also explains to children what they might need to do in order to be a vet. This isn’t all about going to veterinary school or university but covering things like looking after animals, volunteering and things like having a pet of your own. All of these things can help you to learn what it takes to look after animals as a job!
This book has such a good mix of interesting facts, useful information and great illustrations. There is just enough on each page to keep children interested and you can also pick it up as and when you want to without feeling like you need to read it all in one go.
