This Christmas Erin will be nearly 2 and I know that as soon as she wakes up and comes downstairs she’s going to be majorly excited. I know how tempting it will be to forget about breakfast but Erin, as well as me, John and the rest of my family have a very long day ahead of us. Last Christmas Erin took a couple of days to open her presents, which then merged into her birthday on New Year’s Day and it was never ending. Christmas Day was so exhausting that I think Erin had 3 or 4 naps and the excitement just wore her out. So, this year we will all be having a delicious Christmas Day breakfast!
Erin may not want to sit up at the dining table for breakfast and it might be unreasonable to expect it of her at such a young age. I get excited by presents so I can only imagine what she’ll be thinking. YogOaty is the perfect option for children! These pouches come in three delicious flavours and contain yoghurt, oats and fruit and are completely smooth. Fab for fussy toddlers like Erin. These portable pouches also have no added sugar or sweeteners so they make a great, easy breakfast choice for Christmas Day.
For the rest of us I think I’ll be making American style waffles. I want us all to have something a bit different and more importantly, special. We’ve been trying out a Global Gourmet American Waffle Maker from Dunelm.
Before using it for the first time I had never made waffles at home and I was a bit nervous about how hard they would be. The waffle maker is incredibly easy to use and it comes with a little recipe booklet as well. I decided to start off with a plain American style waffle and it turned out brilliantly. It only took 15 minutes to make the batter and to cook the first waffle which I was pretty impressed with.
After making such a delicious treat in a short space of time I knew this would be a pretty amazing Christmas Day breakfast. We had these with strawberries and ice cream but there are so many toppings you could have with them as they could be sweet or savory! Ice cream for breakfast may not be the norm for a lot of households but these waffles were so nice and they were really filling too! Erin liked these as well so depending on her mood, she may actually eat these with us.
Everyone is different when it comes to breakfast on Christmas Day and I’d love to know what you have in your family. Let me know in the comments!

Omg – I definitely need that waffle maker! It’s perfect for Christmas day. I also think it’s perfect as a Christmas gift too!
It really would make a great gift!
I have wanted a good waffle maker for ages. I would love to be able to make them everyday 🙂 These look delicious.
This one really is great and not expensive either
We used to have waffles every Christmas morning until my waffle maker died – I’ll need to get a new one! The one you’ve got here sounds fab!
Oh waffles sound like a great Christmas breakfast. I always tend to go for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for mine x
These waffles look so good! We usually graze all morning and don’t have any decent breakfast so it’ll be a good idea to make a proper breakfast this year!
Lucky Erin, those pouches look yum! My youngest has just started weaning so will look out for those when she’s ready for them!
I need this waffle maker in my life. I think if it makes waffles as beautiful as that ,I’d turn into one. I love waffles but they are so hard to freshly buy in shops ! These are giving me ideas for a gift and a Christmas brekkie !!!
Your waffles look great. I’ve never had a waffle maker but I’d be tempted by one when we move to a larger house!
I’m really loving these breakfast ideas. Normally we just have bacon sandwiches but these sounds so much better. I love waffles, this waffle maker would be fab, just get a new one.
