Erin’s imagination is really starting to shine and I love the things she comes up with. I think being at nursery 3 days a week and being encouraged to use her imagination has really helped. Now, it’s up to us at home to keep encouraging Erin and with the help of books like Dragon Post, we can do that.
One day Alex finds a dragon living in the cupboard under the stairs. Luckily he knows just what to do. He writes letters to lots of different people – including the fire brigade and the butcher– to ask how he should take care of his surprise visitor. Children will love opening the five envelopes and reading the hilarious letters to Alex and then following his magical adventure with his new fiery friend.
We were sent a beautiful copy of the book alongside a special letter and a print picture as well!
I absolutely loved that this whole book was about Alex’s imagination and more importantly, his imaginary friend. One day, Alex just so happens to open the door to the cupboard under the stairs and there’s a dragon sat in there minding his own business.
Alex doesn’t really know what to do with a dragon though and sets about writing to various to people to ask their advice. Inside the book are actual replies to Alex’s letters and as you can see from the pictures below, they have a little touch of dragon to them.
Dragon Post is original, funny and encouraging all at the same time. The book, thanks to the addition of the letters, has real character and it has quickly stood out as one of our favourites from the past couple of months.
