We’re in the middle of some absolutely beautiful weather here in the UK and I know it might be too warm for some people but personally, I’m loving the heat! While it’s nice to stay home with all of the windows open I can’t help but think that there are some great road trips to take. Here a just a few ideas to keep you busy:
The Norfolk Coast
I may be a little bit biased here because I live in Norfolk but I think it’s such a beautiful place to visit, especially if you have never been before. There are so many different places to visit and depending on which part of Norfolk you visit, one place is completely different to the next. Somewhere I have wanted to visit for a long time is Wells-next-the-Sea but a personal favourite of mine is Cromer! There are beaches for everyone, even for dogs and I would be surprised if you didn’t fall in love with Norfolk once you get here!

Cornwall
If I could choose just one place to go on a road trip to it would be Cornwall. It’s a place I have always wanted to visit and never managed to get to yet. One of the biggest reasons why I would want to go is to visit and stay in the Headland Hotel. This hotel was the setting for the film adaptation of the Roald Dahl book The Witches. From the minute I saw the film I wanted to go to this hotel. I will make it one day I’m sure!

Of course, that’s not all there is to do in Cornwall though. You could go to Land’s End, St. Michael’s Mount or even spend the day in Newquay. Somewhere else I would love to go is the Jamaica Inn, made famous from Daphne du Maurier’s novel of the same name! I fell in love with the idea of the place when I read the novel a couple of years ago but I didn’t realise it was a real place until recently.

Scotland
Scotland truly offers an incredible array of landscapes and experiences beyond the well-trodden paths of Edinburgh and Stirling. It sounds like a road trip through the Highlands, especially hitting those famous Harry Potter locations like Glencoe, Eilean na Moine and Loch Eilt, Lochaber, or the Glenfinnan Viaduct, would be an absolute dream for your husband – and with those stunning views, it’s easy to see why you’d be keen too!
While the new Audi Q7 certainly offers plenty of space for a family road trip, you might also consider the ultimate freedom of exploring Scotland in a camper van. Imagine waking up to a different breathtaking view each morning, with your accommodation and travel combined! It allows for incredible flexibility, letting you pull over and admire the scenery whenever you wish, and many areas of Scotland are perfectly set up for camper van adventurers with numerous campsites.
