Yesterday we showed you the Birds In A Nest Sorting Set from Learning Resources. We’re currently trying to find new toys for Erin that are both educational and fun and today we’ll be reviewing Learning Resources‘ Friendly Farm Counters.
The Friendly Farm Counters come as a set of 72 in a large plastic container. This set has a RRP of only £14.50 so you get a whole lot of pieces for the price. The set consists of 6 different animal shapes, in 6 different colours and 2 sizes. Essentially, you get a parent and baby of each animal in each colour.
Sets like these are designed to help encourage early math skills, sorting and learning colours. The Friendly Farm Counters comes with an activity guide and you can also find more ways to use the set on the Learning Resources website.
So far we have been using the Friendly Farm Counters to learn the names of different animals, group them into families and also group them into colours. Erin loves to find the animals that match and then quite often makes them kiss each other. I’m not quite sure what that is about but it’s very cute to watch. Erin can now count from 1-10 was ease so we have also started to line up this amount of counters and count along as we do it.
This is a set that will last us a very long time because there are so many different things you can do with them. I’m sure anyone with a Tuff Tray could come up with loads of different ways to use these for fun and educational activities.
This is just one of the great products from Learning Resources and I can’t wait to get more for Erin to help her learn at home.
