Your bathroom may be one of the most private rooms in your house, but sooner or later your friends are going to be in there for one reason or another, and the last thing you want is them getting the wrong impression about you or your family home.
One way to tell a lot about a person? Their shower curtain, believe it or not. But what does your shower curtain say about you?
A plain shower curtain, or one with a slight amount of patterning, works best as part of a basic bathroom look. It shows that you enjoy a minimal look and appreciate its functionality. You can always pair it with fancy wall tiles and decorations to give it a subtler pop.
A nautical-patterned shower curtain is a bit more childish, but in a good way – almost a tongue-in-cheek way of saying “yes, this is my bathroom and I’m going to decorate it like this!” that people might find oddly amusing for a while. However, if you’re using one of these in an otherwise modern, clean, professional design, you might want to rethink it.
If your shower curtain is made out a thick material, and needs a hefty support – it suggests that you want your bathroom to be more than the bare minimum, and that you’re aiming for quality and appeal in every aspect of your life. Remember: your bathroom doesn’t need to be decorated, but you’re showing that you want it to be.
If you’re going to use a branded shower curtain design, it’s really up to the brand to decide how it should be received. There can be a certain class in promoting well-received hygiene or bathing products, as if you’re showing off just how committed you are to keep yourself looking clean and tidy at all times. If it’s an expensive brand’s logo, even better!
You might eschew a curtain entirely in favour of a screen. They often look fancier, but the see-through nature may have some people questioning your view of protecting your privacy, so be sure to incorporate it into the bathroom’s design well rather than slapping it down on its own.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to design, and there’s no better way to find what works than try things out! You might even come up with a new combination of styles that fits your personality perfectly.
