When you think of a city, most of the time, the one that comes to mind is New York City. Whether the image of times square flashes through your head or you see the empire state building towering over all of the buildings in the city. Many NYC locals have grown used to seeing these amazing sights and take for granted the city they live in. The tourists, however, get captivated by the views and activities the city has to offer.

One part of New York that is known for its tourist attractions is Manhattan. There are several fun and exciting activities in Manhattan, but what sets Manhattan apart are the amounts of museums located there. There are so many options to choose from that sometimes it can be difficult. Luckily, below is a list of the best museums to take a look at in Manhattan.

9/11 Memorial Museum

The crisis of 9/11 was horrific, and the attacks that occurred on that date will most certainly never be forgotten. That being said, in every dark cloud, there is a silver lining. Instead of crumbling and being both physically and emotionally destroyed by the attacks, our nation combined as one to get through these challenging times and proclaim the war on terror.

Your opinions on the matter set aside; the attacks were horrible events in our nation’s history. If you want to pay your respects to those who passed during the tragic events, you can visit the memorial museum. The best way to prevent future events like 9/11 from occurring is never to forget the ones that happened in the past.

New York Public Library

Everything in the big apple is as advertised… big! The New York Public Library is no exception to this rule. There is almost every single book you could ever imagine in this library. Even though it isn’t exactly a museum, it is a place to further your knowledge of New York in all facets.

One thing that is unique to NYC is that it is separated into several different parts, and each one of those parts is distinctly different from the next. It is almost as if you cross and line and go into the following district of New York. Manhattan is such an excellent representation of these distinct sections of New York.
Some people love New York City so much that they decide to move there just based on one visit. Plus, there is always the stereotype of the person living in a small town that moves out to the big city with big hopes and dreams. The great thing about New York is that it is a place where these hopes and dreams can come true. Plus, there is so much open real estate in Manhattan, so if you decide to move out to the big city, there is a spot for you right in the heart.
