Erin playing with the Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table

Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table Review

A few weeks ago John accidentally broke the lid on Erin’s water table. It was something we bought over 2 years ago and it lasted well. However, the water table was really basic as it only had 2 compartments with various pots to play with. It wasn’t very interesting and there wasn’t much that you could do with it. As Erin loves to play outside we knew that we needed to replace the water table. Little Tikes kindly came to our rescue and sent us the Fountain Factory Water Table for Erin.

I decided to put the Fountain Factory together on a Sunday morning while John and Erin were off swimming. As soon as I opened the box and saw all of the pieces I was a bit worried about how hard the assembly would be. I needn’t have worried though as it only took me about 20-25 minutes to do on my own with the help of this YouTube video. You do get instructions on paper but I find it much easier to follow someone else doing the same thing. In all honesty, getting the plug attached properly was the hardest part of putting this together.

Erin had actually seen an advert for the Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table before we got it and she got really excited just watching that. So, when I took her out into the garden and told her I had a surprise for her was pretty magical. Erin got excited immediately, running over to the table to figure out what it could do.

The Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table has interchangeable parts to help children experience STEM learning. The instructions show you how to put the table together in one way but really, you can ignore a lot of it and play around with the set up. I’d set the table up as directed just so I could figure out what it could do as well.

Erin is quite small for her age and I was a little worried that she wouldn’t be able to reach to fill up the jug at the top of the water tower. She actually has no problem at all filling it up with the help of one of the cups provided as an accessory and reaching just a little bit. Younger children around the age of 2 might need a bit of help with this part of the water table depending on their height.

I really like how much there is to do with this water table. Our old one had two sides and a couple of cups to play with so it really wasn’t very interesting at all. The Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table has pipes that can be shut off by the taps which means different things can happen depending on how you have it set up. Both me and Erin forget which tap does what though and we often end up emptying the whole water tower!

It’s been really amazing to watch Erin play with the Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table. Instead of getting bored with it quickly like she did with our old table, Erin can now spend hours with this one. The interchangeable parts, along with the cute accessories like the boat and cups help to change up the style of play each time.

Erin’s favourite activity on the table is the yellow pump, which helps water to flow up the water tower and around the pipes. She loves to watch the water bubble up inside the tower and for it to work its way round to the squirty pipe. Sometimes the pump can take quite a lot of work before the water moves around so John and I tend to help out a little bit here sometimes.

My personal favourite feature of the Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table is the plug and I know that might seem like a strange thing to get excited about. The plug, although fiddly to get into place, makes it so easy to empty the water after playing without getting it all over myself! A full water table is a heavy thing to pick up to empty but there’s none of that with this one. My only slight worry is how easy it will be to keep all of the parts clean, especially as we leave the table outside a lot.

We have all had so much fun with the Little Tikes Fountain Factory Water Table, not just Erin. Little Tikes have created something that all of the family can get involved in and as Erin doesn’t have a sibling, that means a lot to us.

  1. I love water play, my kids will play for hours with water.
They are a little too old for this one but it looks fantastic.

I too would be excited by the plug, those things are a nightmare to empty!

  2. Aww it looks like she’s having so much fun! We also have this water table and my daughters really love it in the summer 🙂

  3. Oh wow my boys would love that! It looks so much more advanced than a standard water table. We are having our garden done next month so I will have to remember this for once the work is done 🙂

  4. I’ve been looking at water and sand/water tables lately, so this is handy. It looks like a lot of fun. Good old You Tube for the instructions! Xx
