After a really horrible month in March, spring is finally here. At this time of year I like to have a really good sort out at home and that means being ruthless. I have a whole room of items that either don’t get used or are listed to sell on Facebook but at least they are out of the way. Since having Erin I have realised that if I want something to stay safe then it has to either be in some kind of storage box or way out of her reach.
While putting things on shelves may seem like a good idea, it can really make your house look messy and cluttered. Decorative boxes or cases are the perfect solution for keeping things out of sight but are also a way to add something extra to a room. We were recently sent the Beautify Set Of 2 Grey Storage Trunks from Domu and I am so in love with them.
Grey and rose gold are very on trend right now so the colour of the steel case with rose gold clasps and handles are perfect! Even without using the trunks for storage, this set would make a fantastic addition to a room with these kinds of colours. They would make a real focal point!
These storage trunks come in a set of two with the smaller measuring L52 x W26 x H20cm and the larger trunk measuring L60 x W36 x H24cm. The size makes it possible to store so many different items and you could even put smaller boxes inside as well to keep things even more organised.
As John and I know we aren’t going to have any more children we don’t have a lot of Erin’s old clothes or items being stored anywhere. However, there are some things that she doesn’t use at the moment that we may need again for Erin at some point. When I was younger I used to have a special blanket that only came out when I was sick and this is why I’ve kept some of Erin’s!
The trunks hold so much and if you’re worried about little hands being able to open them, there are plenty of ways to make them child safe. First, the clasps on either side are quite stiff so there’s no way that Erin will be able to open these for quite some time. The trunks also have a latch in the middle which you can add a lock to for complete peace of mind.
